I feel like I need to stop this before it gets worse. After the Command Code updates (I'll shorten the term to CC from here on), we've been receiving tons of questions on who should use the codes or whether the codes are compatible with said servant.
Time to get several points straight...
1. Command codes are meant to make YOUR OWN unique servant, one that can enhance their strength to the utmost limit (take BeastlyWhale's Lakshmi Bai as an example) or compensate their weakness (like Nero Slay's Hijikata). Think of it as a more specialized grails that can be moved to someone else.
2. Command codes can be obtained from FP Gacha (albeit trying to find a specific one is one atrocious process) and events as rewards. You can't have two copies of the same 3-5* CCs, unless you obtain the second copy from MP and RP shop (currently JP only at the time of writing).
If you try to get the second copy from a rerun event (after getting one from the original event), your rewards will be MP or RP depending the rarity of said CCs.
3. An embedded command codes is not permanently embedded. You can remove them with Code Removers (usually as event rewards or available monthly in RP shop) or replace the 1-2* variants with higher rarity ones.
So if you're having second thoughts, you can still move said CC to someone else. Many recent min turn clear videos in JP exploit this fact.
4. After you get that point across, let's get started on what sort of kit you want to use on said servant.
To begin with, CC sets can be separated into offensive ones (critical damage, special mod, star gen, etc), defensive ones (self heal, ailment removal, damage cut etc), and hybrids (the combination of two). The next part of the guide will help you break down the process.
