I usually am not one to shit talk over others' opinions, I am a person who respects other people and their opinions, even if they are contradictory to mine. If you voted for any of these Top 2 characters for both brackets, don't feel offended about what I'm about to say, and don't take me as the Grinch of CYL. If you are easily offended by opinions contradictory to yours, DON'T READ THIS. If you wish to tell me why I should believe otherwise, please go ahead and comment here or PM me. I'm not saying you will change my opinion, but I will listen to you at the very least.

Choose your Legends 3

The choices are disappointing, at best. Mind you, I feel CYL and CYL2, while not necessarily hosting my favorite heroes, at least got something right: all of those heroes were legends in their own right. More or less, that is. I simply can't consider Veronica a legend for what she has done up until now, but I can understand why the community wanted her and I am inclined to believe she was a good choice. Other than that, all the others were brave heroes in their own rights. More facing greater challenges than others, but nevertheless heroes. While this argument doesn't quite work for the Men's Bracket... just wait for the Women's Bracket.

Men's Bracket

I told you all, this is all a damn LIE!

Okay, Berkut memes aside, what is this? Alm and Marth? Seriously? Yes, I understand why both were chosen, and if you'll go back to my other posts you'll see I was clearly happy for finally getting my first Alm earlier this January, so where's the hate coming from?

Simple: I like the character, but he does NOT deserve a brave hero alt. Why? Well...

Yes, he IS tasked with a great challenge right from the beginning of the game, leading a WHOLE army against not only an empire, but a God. He has qualities to become the first king of his own realm, but you know who could've done it better? Berkut.

Yeah, yeah, you saw it coming. So what? Berkut is more fit to be king of the whole continent than Alm will ever be. For one, Berkut was TRAINED, MEANT to be the next king of the Rigelian Empire, he could've easily taken the whole continent into his own hands. And despite his desire to rule, he never forgot about someone dear to him, Rinea. The one person who never left his side, even when things were tough, even when she were to be sacrificed. Alm and Celica, on the other hand? Moment after they finally see each other, they break up again. They were awaiting such moment for YEARS, and then they fuck it up in less than an hour. From his wonderful relationship, to his capabilities as a king and being a threatening enemy on the battlefield, Berkut is simply better than Alm. He doesn't die for his homeland, like the Camus archetype, he dies for his own wish: to rule the Empire with his beloved, and I think THAT makes him a hero more than Alm ever will be. Alm never took charge without a pushback from someone. He ed the Deliverance thanks to Lukas, he became leader because of Clive.

JESUS CHRIST I NEED TO STOP.

But yes, this is why I believe Berkut could've taken his place no problem. Are there better men that could've been in Berkut's place? Maybe. But that doesn't change the fact that Alm doesn't really deserve this alt, but rather a Legendary one.

Marth.

Ah, that one Smash character from Fire Emblem, amIrite? Okay, no, all jokes aside, Marth is easily the Pikachu of Fire Emblem. If you know Fire Emblem, chances are, you know Marth.

Now, I'll be honest with you: I haven't played any of the games that Marth is the protagonist of. However, I wish to know what makes him any different than pretty much all of the lords that wish for peace in this franchise. Mind you, this is a great archetype, and one that, of course, fits any lord, and Marth was the first, but what exactly makes him more fit to be a Brave hero than any lord in the series?

Besides, we already got Legendary Marth. If they can top that, I'll shut my mouth about this choice. I for one LOVE Legendary Marth and wish I had him. But just like with Ephraim, while his Brave alt isn't... bad, it's by no means better in any way when compared to his Legendary one. I have both and would pick Legendary Ephraim any day of the year.

Women's Bracket

...Camilla. Fucking. Camilla?

Okay, okay, I'm not one to hate Camilla. I shamefully it that I'm not someone to back away from fanservice, and Camilla has it written all over her. Still, what makes her a BRAVE HERO?! Yes, I will go ahead and say I don't mind that this is her 7th alt(if she gets chosen and if no other alts come before), but she does NOT deserve to be a legend, a brave hero! Now, does this go for all of Fates? Honestly... yes. There are women who fight and even die for their families, for those they love or care about, I mean, Hell, AZURA would've fit this place better! But I would've complained about her, too, since she has a Legendary alt already. Point is, Camilla does NOT deserve a brave alt, and if you voted for her just for the memes, shame on you. If you like her, fair enough. But don't come on any social media site and complain that she came into the top 2 of Women's Bracket. You did this with your own hand. Unless you didn't vote for her, in which case you have all the rights to complain.

Micaiah.

Well, I liked Micaiah from the moment I saw her in Heroes for the first time. Just like with Alm, this is someone I genuinely like in every appearance of hers, but does she deserve a brave alt? No. Now, there are many girls I would've personally liked to take up her place, but they're mostly personal preference and they might or might not be more qualified than Micaiah to take this spot. That is all I have to complain about regarding her.

TL;DR, please explain yourself

For Alm and Camilla, I feel they clearly don't deserve their brave alts.

For Marth and Micaiah, I feel many others could've easily taken their spot. I don't feel they deserve a brave alt, while other heroes do.

Ending Thoughts

To each their own, but I would've taken Berkut instead of Alm, and Takumi instead of Marth. Why Takumi? Well, I started loving him so much more thanks to my girlfriend, and she made me feel he does more than Marth. He may not be as strong-willed as Marth, but his devotion to his family is what drove his will to go on. With that gone, what do you expect would happen to him in Conquest? As for Revelations and Birthright, he accepts you as family and is quite adorable in his own rights. Not a leader like Marth, yes, but a hero and a legend nevertheless.

As for Camilla and Micaiah, I can't pin-point better women that could take the spot who wouldn't be personal preference without any real arguments, which I don't wish to bring down upon you, I feel that shoving my opinions without anything other than "They simply grew on me." would be pointless and toxic to some extent.
