Welcome to my first post!! Or well, first on this ? I used to use Amino a while ago, but I got locked out my old . I don't even know how to find it, gahh! If someone can help, that'd be great. Anyway, my first post back and swinging, and I've got one of my favourites! The Puppet!

I decided to the challenge, because I clearly love giving myself more things to draw when I should be studying. Woo! I did have fun with this, I'm sorry my handwriting is bad so I'll try and transcribe my notes and explain as I go.

But,, I'll save you the scrolling and show the finished thing first! The quality is absolutely crushed, but I think you can see what it is supposed to be. There will be a tiktok link to the process here so hopefully the quality is decent there.

The process of deg!

A lot of this is scribbles, but the TLDR of it;

I drew a lot of inspiration from victorian dolls and masks, and clowns, oddly enough. I'm partially inspired by the drag artist Sweetpickles for the aesthetic and the way I chose to place the colours, as well as the dolls which I showed in the images. It's kind of a messy diagram, but I loved the pompoms on them so I used that kind of idea but buttons and bells because I imagine afton would keep things plastic. He seems cheap like that. Why pay for wool when you can use buttons?

I also took inspiration for the hands from claw machines in arcades, I like the way they look and I thought it'd fit in with FNAF 2. There's also the threads visible as well, like an actual marionette, because I just love drawing flowy things and this seemed fun- You can see as well I highlighted the inspirations, which speaking of, I'll update this blog when I find sources but I did find most of the images on pinterest and finding sources on there is impossible. I'm really sorry.

I did have a very clear idea of this design, thankfully, so I don't really have many concept sketches- I did try the big sleeves like the vintage clowns but ultimately deciding on the stick-like look was where we had to go. There's something unsettling to me in spindly things, it reminds me of Spiders- Another slight influence, but I'm not including Spiders in the blog because I cannot look at them and I don't want to make other people go through that either.

Spiders are scary.

The colours were an easy lay-down process, I didn't mess much with them either because I sort of knew the pink was going to be an accent and the white was reserved for the main mask, likewise with the dark body. I wanted to keep the character somewhat recognisable and not just a total overhaul.

Overall, I think it went okay! I'm not sure what else to say here, if there is anything missing from the post, let me know. Otherwise, Jacky out :v: :sparkles:
