I'm just going to try and finish the line I started for July bingo so here's an atleast 500 word story! It's about one of my ocs SpringStep and how he got discarded. Enjoy!
"I'm not ready to die..." Spring Step said to himself, with tears streaming down his face. He hugged two marketable plushies of his late co-workers, who he had considered family. Spring was sitting on a couch in a dimly-lit room, the couch was the only furniture left as everything else had been packed into boxes. Spring was still in his costume from last night. He didn't want to take it off, he didn't want to accept that his showdays were over. They had helped him pick the outfit out... Spring looked at the two plushies he was grasping and involuntarily thought about the horrible events of last night. "It wasn't my fault..."
It was during one of their shows. Spring was a reed frog animatronic and part of an acrobatics show at Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaple. He walked a tightrope and did acrobatic tricks as his two companions performed trapeze overhead. Spring would jump past or between them and sometimes even give them mid-air high fives. He had spring-loaded feet so he could jump high and land safely, that's why his name was SpringStep. In the middle of the show, one of the trapezes glitched and fell. The other swung from the trapeze bar and tried to catch the falling one. It was successful, but they both fell onto the tightrope and hung on for dear life. Spring was flung when the two fell, but he landed safely. He looked up at them dangling; the glitching one couldn't move. Spring didn't want to jump onto the tightrope because the disturbance could cause them to fall. He couldn't just grab them either; he was too weak to carry them both. If one moved the other could fall. Spring instead opted to check that the tightrope was going to hold up until some form of helped arrived. He jumped to check each side of the tightrope's s. It didn't look good. Many of the wires had snapped from the sudden impact. Spring then heard a small voice from the ground, "It'll be okay, I'll catch you guys!" Spring landed and saw a child standing right under the two precarious trapezes. The kid must have snuck past the crowd barrier with all the commotion going on. "Kid get out of here!" Spring shouted at the child. Then he heard the sound of more wires snapping. Spring ran to the child and acted as a shield as the tightrope tore free from the s. The tightrope slashed Spring's back and dropped the two trapezes to their deaths.
Spring blinked back into the present. He had saved that kid but his friends—his family—had died, and he was damaged. There was no way the company would keep him for anything but scrap. His act was ruined, and there would probably be lawsuits from guests. Spring squeezed the plushies as he broke down, crying more than he already was. He probably would have flooded the small room if he didn't run out of tears. Spring wiped his tears from his face as someone entered the room. It was one of the staff. Spring knew what was going to happen now. "It's time to go," the staff said, coldly. "I know..." Spring nearly whispered. He got up still holding the plushies. "Leave those, you won't need them." This staff was very cruel. Spring did as he was told, he would be made to if he didn't.
The staff led Spring to the basement, it was cold and dark. This is where he would spend the rest of his life. The staff went to a door, opened it, and said, "Go in." Spring hesitated. Would this be where he's going to die? "Go in," the staff reiterated, more aggressively. Spring gulped and stepped inside. It was even darker, but with the door open, Spring could slightly see. There were limp bodies of deactivated robots everywhere. Many of them were missing limbs and eyes. It was like a defiled morgue. Spring gasped. Then the staff closed the door behind him. "No- NO YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME IN HERE!" Spring shouted and banged on the door. Silence. There was no one. Spring tried to look around. Darkness. There was nothing. It was like he was already dead. So he sank down and sat against the door, accepting his fate. Spring soon ran out of power, never to be turned on again.
And that's the end! See you next time!
