♡Building a universe for my characters always seemed like a very confusing and difficult task. I didn't know where to start and I stopped doing a lot of things because of that.

Before you start writing, create a basic outline of your plot. Define the main events and how they connect. This will serve as a map so you don't get lost in the narrative. It may seem obvius, we often jump this step because we assume we already have the outiline in our mind

• Develop Realistic Dialogue

Dialogue is a vital part of storytelling. Each [c]character should have a unique voice that reflects their personality and background. Practice writing short dialogue scenes to understand how they communicate with each other.

• Always ask for

Once you have completed a draft, review your work and don’t hesitate to ask others to read it. is a great tool for identifying what works and what could be improved.

• Develop Geography

⩘ ✦Create maps, draw continents, and define climates. The environments you imagine (deserts, forests, futuristic cities) will influence the cultures and societies that inhabit them.

• Establish Cultures and Societies

⩘ ✦Think about how different cultures interact. What are their traditions, languages, and social norms? Diversity is key to a rich and expansive universe, so don't hesitate to include multiple civilizations.

• Character Creation

⩘ ✦OCs should have deep roots in the universe you are creating. Each character should have a story that ties into their world. Think about each character's role, their goals, challenges, and how their stories intertwine.
