If you read my previous post you know that my Dad was recently involved in an accident in his 2008 Mercury Sable. For those who don't know the story; essential someone in a Lincoln Navigator came out of a side parking lot onto the main road (where my Dad was driving) and slammed into the rear drivers door & quarter which caused my Dad's car to spin 180° and slam into a curb. Fortunately my Dad was okay and only suffered some sore muscles. Unfortunately the Insurance company deemed his car totaled, and settled on a buy out price with him.
The Damage

Being a 10 year old Car with 167k miles he didn't receive a lot of money but it was more than fair. However I was challenged with the task of finding him a good, reliable car for under what he got. After hours of searching I found the perfect car on Craigslist.
A 2006 Mercury Montego Premier

The Montego is basically the same car as the Sable only with a different name. This particular Montego has the 3.0 Duratech V6 mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission which pushes out an underwelming but acceptable 206hp. It only has 98k miles but drives like new. Being the Pemier trim level, this car is fully loaded with power everything, heated & leather seats, a leather wrapped steering wheel, 18" aluminum wheels and reverse sensors.

Hopefully this Mercuy will treat us just as well as the sable did. Until next time guys... Thanks for Reading!!

WOOO MERCURYYYYYYYY
Yes sir, my Dad loved his Mercury Sable so much that he had to get another Mercury!!
That sounds like a bad situation turned into a great upgrade. It's unfortunate to see a good car totalled but at least you have a fitting replacement!
For sure, the Sable was fully loaded as well but had almost 170k miles and was certainly starting to show it's age. This Montego only has 98K miles and is practically new.
