The motor in the gtp lost most of its compression on cylinder 1 :disappointed_relieved:
Doesn't mean I am getting rid of it.
Should I swap a series 3 supercharged 3.8 or should I put another series 2 motor in it

Too much money. 1500 bucks for a gen 3. Maybe 1200 for a gen 2. (At least thats the quote I just got from LKQ when I looked a second ago plus shipping). Thats V8 money. You can buy a cammed polish ported SBC for that. You can buy a LS for that. Its big boy funds. You can almost afford a crate V8 honestly its stupid money.
Figure out whats wrong first. If it were me I'd try to save the engine you have. You can hone a block and re ring the pistons for another 100k miles for maybe 300 bucks? Fluids and gaskets will cost you more than the parts and tools lol. Heads are a little different. Upwards of 600 bucks per head for valve work sometimes. While that sounds like a lot.... there's no telling how much life is left in a junkyard engine. This way you know what got replaced and what didn't.
Now if you have the hookup somewhere... for the price difference? Just put a gen 3 engine in. Mostly because it'll be newer. Big difference between buying something 20 years old and 15 :joy:
