The Results Are Here For The 2nd MCC!!!

Each entry has been assigned a total score out of 20 and has been judged by the gameplay (10 points available), the sync (5 points available), and the consistency (5 points available). The consistency score is based on if the difficulty in the layout stays consistent throughout, and if it is buggy or not.

This Is a Concept

Gamplay: 5.4/10

Sync: 1.6/5

Consistency: 2.6/5

Despite this layout coming in last place, the gameplay isn't actually half bad, the biggest downfall of the level is a lack of sync. It is clear that the creator did the bare minimum here as it could have been so much better. It's just so unfortunate that the creator has some brief parts that are satisfying to play due to sync, but the majority of the level has none. However, the thing that personally annoys me the most is the infuriating UFO section in the middle of the level, a 3 to 4 second part which tanked the consistency rating a considerable amount.

This layout has worse gameplay than the last place entry, but was able to edge out on total points due to the sync and consistency score. I personally enjoyed playing this layout for some weird reason, not sure why since the gameplay isn't very good, maybe its because I had an easy time with it. There is 1 bug that occurs at around 35% - if you go too low into the spider portal in the wave, you'll will die at the transition (not too bad of a bug though since its easily avoidable). One thing I am not a fan of whatsoever though is the 3 jump rings at the end of the spider, where you essentially have to do a triple tap. As well as this, some parts align well with the music and others don't in the level. For example, the majority of the wave section has poor sync (and it makes me question why I rated the sync a 3 and not a 2). The final thing I will say is that I found this layout to be consistent in difficulty, and after learning it I was very consistent with the level, though most of the other mods did not seem to agree.

Consiatency: 2/5

The gameplay score for this level is equal to the one in Spykre's layout and is also worse than the score given to last place, but it makes up with it's great sync and sneaks into 4th place. I personally rated the sync a 3/5 but in retrospect, I probably should have given it a 4. This layout also introduces a very interesting concept with switching which jump ring does what, and the same goes with the gamemode portals. If we had also judged the layouts based on how original the levels were, the layout would have likely jumped to 3rd or even 2nd place. On the other hand, the gameplay in this level is ridiculously frustrating, and pretty much ruins what the layout has going for it. The gameplay in the first half is manageable because I can skip some really annoying timings, but the 2nd half of the level is absolutely brutal, it has really awkward timings and sudden bursts of high s (particularly at about 77%). In my opinion this entry has the worst gameplay out of all the entries, and it made me genuinely want to pull my hair out.

Gameplay: 6.3/10

Sync: 2.6/5

Consistency: 3.2/5

The gameplay in this layout is actaully pretty solid for the most part, and doesn't have any major flaws. This layout could have done with some more play testing, as the layout feels a bit rushed, especially at the ball part where the most annoying part of the level is. First of all, you have to go up as early as you can at 45%, then buffer the 2 jump orbs so you don't die to the input at 49%, and at 53% you have to buffer the blue orb to the next part. Other than that, there's no really annoying gameplay in the layout. The sync wasn't great in this layout either, and it kind of shows how rushed this layout is. There is some incredibly basic sync in some parts, and other parts are off sync completely, like some of the portals and jump rings in the ship part. One final thing I'll say about this level is that the gameplay at 77 - 100% is buttery smooth and is a joy to play, if the rest of the gameplay was of similar quality throughout, the layout would likely place 1 spot higher.

Layout 1

Gameplay: 6.8/10

Sync: 3/5

Consistency: 3.4/5

This layout has earned 2nd place in the contest due to having great gameplay for the most part, and is mostly consistent, as well as having gameplay aligned well with the music. Idk why but the gameplay from this level reminds me a bit of Extinction by haoN, perhaps it's the fact that there is a spider part right before the drop lol (obviously Spykre's layout is more reminiscent of Extinction since it literally uses the song from Extinction, but still). However this level doesn't come without its glaring issues, that being the significantly annoying bug at around 57%. If you hold for too long in the tele portal, you will do a regular jump at the cube instead of actually using the jump pads, causing you to coast along the bottom of the level, which was not ideal for me trying to beat it the normal route lol. In addition, there is just a slow wave part randomly chucked in the middle of an intense drop, and the transition into it isn't great either, not the best choice of gameplay... overall though good layout.

Here it is, the winner of the the CC by a landslide, with exceptional sync, and awesome gameplay. This level has a really fun 2 player dual at the end, not to mention how there is literally no issues with sync (I have no idea how every mod DIDN'T give sync a 5). Personally, I wasn't able to beat the level in 1 run, not only because I am too bad at the game, but also I encountered a bug that makes the level pretty much impossible for me - I can't the first jump in the level. After buffering the orb, I just die to the spikes every single time, and in order to survive, I have to time the jump orb (which isn't exactly easy to do when theres a fucking saw inside the jump orb, and as a result I now have a close to frame perfect timing to deal with at the start). I didn't let this influence my consistency score (which I gave a 5), since I don't think any other mod had this issue with the level. However, I wasn't too much a fan of some of the gameplay during the level since there are a lot of wave parts that consist of high s gameplay, and spam, especially WAVE spam, is not my strong suit. As a result I don't think I would have enjoyed beating this level even if I was skilled enough, so I personally gave a gameplay rating of 5, but I still managed to give it the highest overall rating out of any other layout bruh.

Total score: 15.4/20

Yeah I noticed some things you did to have gameplay synced to the song, such as the dash orbs going against a staircase, but in general the sync was very weak.
