The #RetroLayoutCC results are in.
After judging all 13 entries, I have my results, so let's start.
~•~
Scoring system
The scores are based off 3 factors, Gameplay, Originality and Consistency for a total score of 40. Multiple factors affect each.
Gameplay (15 points)
Gameplay is based off how fun the level is to play. Things like bugs, bad transitions make you lose points. Things like sync and varied gamemodes and ideas gain points. 15 points can be earned here.
Originality (15 points)
Originality is based off of how original your gameplay, song choice and layout structure and design are. The way the ideas have been done will also affect the score, so if you do a good idea with poor execution, you may lose one or two points than if you done it well. Nothing much though.
Consistency (10 points)
Consistency is based off the previous two points and how well you spread it out through the level. If you're level is at a consistent difficulty with no absurd spikes in difficulty, you'll be fine. If you have a good few ideas throughout the level, you'll be fine.
All these make up a total of 40 points, so now the ranking is out of the way, we shall move to the results, going from 13th to 1st, 13th to 4th will have a brief description of the level and their scores, while 3rd, 2nd and 1st will have an actual review to them. Let's get started.

The results
13. ShadowRealm by KingKobra
Gameplay 1, Originality 1, Consistency 6, Total 8.
This layout is very bland and uninspired. It has many structures that are just not filled at all, a lot of skippable orbs and empty gameplay at parts. It doesn't have many ideas in it at all, most original thing being a dual in it. The consistency is not all too good, as it has a few parts that spike out compared to the rest. Overall it isn't a really good layout.
12. Roghba by RaCk
Gameplay 2, Originality 3, Consistency 5, Total 10.
This layout is also pretty bland. There are a few things of note, mainly being the structure design and it affecting the gameplay a bit, however the layout seems to have not been play tested well. The gameplay has many parts that are much harder than others, and a few jumps that are way too inconsistent. Making for a rather unfun experience overall.
11. Warcraft by Baumus
Gameplay 7, Originality 3, Consistency 7, Total 17.
This layout is more bland than actually bad. In fact, this is were they get fun to play. It was reasonably fun to play and there were a few parts in it that stuck out. Mainly the opening as it was pretty original using the song for sync. It is pretty consistent but a few parts are a good bit harder than others. However, in the end it just is very bland and not all too original. However, I did have fun playing it.
10. Layout by OnlyTrying
Gameplay 3, Originality 14, Consistency 4, Total 21.
Okay so this layout is unique. Very unique. It takes the retro theme and applies it super well to the layout. Playing it you can actually tell how it uses the retro theme. The song is actually an 8 bit remix of a Gourment Race from Kirby Super Star (a 16 bit song since it was on the SNES), the layout has many blocks put out similar to pixels, it has parts that use the move objects in abrupt moments to load it simalar to a NES game. However, this all comes at the cost of it being fun. As it is very unfun to play due to empty and unpredictable gameplay that is very inconsistent. Good idea, bad execution.
These next few are very close and honestly if you ordered them slightly different I wouldn't entirely disagree.
9. Gimme that Kirb by Nefrox
Gameplay 11, Originality 3, Consistency 8, Total 22.
This layout is a long layout being 3 minutes long. Keeping this in mind it is super consistent in its gameplay, probably having one of the best consistency in gameplay in all of this. The gameplay itself is pretty well synced and has a few nice duals. However, a few transitions are a pain in the butt and there is a big section that is empty. However that is where the one pretty unique part of the level rewinding comes in. However there is literally no gameplay for like 10 seconds straight. Good layout overall.
8. Layout by Anuar
Gameplay 13, Originality 4, Consistency 6, Total 23.
This layout is a layout that is half speedcore and half normal layout. It is fun to play and syncs really well. It has a good use of structures and is pretty well made. However, that's where the originality and fun end, as this level is very inconsistent. Alot of transitions are horrid, some of which having unnecessary portals to make it unnecessarily harder and more unfun. Other transitions out you into gameplay you don't see coming and just need to know it comes and that's also unfun. The layout is held back by the inconsistency and lack of originality.
7. Mega Layout by Hunter.
Gameplay 12, Originality 3, Consistency 9, Total 24.
This layout is really fun to play, is really consistent and is really well made. However, it falls so far back, from the lack of originality in it. That's really it. It is a very well made layout and I recommend you play it (Check the post via the has tag for the ID). It just doesn't have any origuinality to it, making it fall back.
4. Nuclear Crackdown by ArcticFox
I'M SO SORRY FOR NOT PUTTING THIS IN ORIGINALLY ;~; (The score was done with the rest of them dw)
Gameplay 10, Originality 9, Consistency 6, Total 25
This layout is a pretty good layout. It has a good pot of original ideas and even had a coin route in it. The drop is really fun to play and is pretty original aswell with the branching paths. However it is pretty I inconsistent to the rest of the level. The gameplay was docked points aswell since the first 30% is bland and empty aswell. Overall, good layout.
4. Tea E Tea Are I Esss by Erac
Gameplay 9, Originality 10, Consistency 6, Total 25
So this layout is a pretty original layout with decent gameplay. It uses a Dubstep remix of the Tetris theme and is pretty original, using tetrominoes as it's design for blocks. It is pretty well made however some gameplay has parts where you can just skip out the ends of it. It's pretty good overall and is original. However the consistency drops down at the drop in which the difficulty absurdly spikes. There's a boss like segmant which isn't the best made thing however it is a bit able. However after that there is a six spike jump that is by no means consistent at all. That ends this pretty good layout.
4. RuSh by Asagiri
Gameplay 9, Originality 11, Consistency 5, Total 25.
This layout is a pretty good layout. The gameplay is good, except for many, many bad transitions which docked a lotta points from the potential score. It has many different gameplay ideas that are original and done pretty well. Similar to the last layout, at the drop there's a boss-esc section. What this does better though is have better sync and more reactable gameplay. However it is still really hard to react to. Also a pretty good layout that is interchangeable with Tea E Tea Are I Ess and Nuclear Crackdown making it tied fourth.

The top 3
Similar to how 8th 7th and 6th would be interchangeable, 3rd and 2nd are aswell. However I have to make a decision as to which is better. So, without a further a do, let's look at the top 3.
3. MegaMan by Zoan
Gameplay: 13/15
The gameplay in this level is really well made, really well synced and an absolute joy to play. It syncs well, there's good structure, there a good ideas used in the gameplay. Like one or two transitions are bad but there isn't much otherwise.
Originality: 12/15
The layout has a good lot of original ideas. Notably in the gameplay, where it makes good use of moving objects in the ship, a good use of H blocks, rotating orbs, a unique swingcopter. Pretty original over all
Consistency: 8/10
The layout is pretty consistent, having constant gold ideas and consistent gameplay, besides the big difficulty spike in the first ship. The drop being harder is to be expected however here it is much harder, and considering it's 60% in that's pretty rough. However overall it is very consistent.
Total:33/40
2. Vah Ruta by Atomikal
Gameplay: 12/15
The gameplay in this level is really well made, really well synced and an absolute joy to play. It syncs well, there's good structure, there a good ideas used in the gameplay. Like one or two transitions are bad but there isn't much otherwise. Yes this is the exact same as above, however, the last 20% of the level@ here is pretty eh. It is a memory wave that you don't get any indicator of the code, which is total bullshit. Which lost a point for this.
Originality: 14/15
This layout is very original. Not counting the Pixel Art (Since this is a layout CC not a normal CC), the use of spikes to make triforces is very apparent. The swing copter section is very nice and the transition back to normal gameplay from it is also nice. The use of dash orbs is nice. The faded out part is nice. The memory part is nice, but loses a point from a perfect 15 for having no indication to it in the level. It would have been 15 otherwise honestly.
Consistency: 8/10
Very consistent layout, a few bad transitions and one iffy timing in the swing copter. The last 30% is way harder than the rest of the level aswell.
Total: 34/40
So if those two were close, what sets out Number 1 from them? Well, simply put, it done their pros but better. So, the winner to the #RetroLayoutCC is,
1. TetriX by YeetDawg
Gameplay: 13/15
The gameplay is very very unique and is the most fun thing to play. It only loses 2 points due to the beginning having a lot of skippable bits and being a bit annoying to play anyways. Playing this level was actually enjoyable and really with while.
Originality: 15/15
This gameplay is super original. All the ideas are done out well, there are ideas throughout the whole level. The beginning is all on a moving object to slow down the gameplay. Then there's a section with 3 branches that you change through, that all syncs to the music brilliantly. There is a buffer part in the middle of this section. Afterwards, at the drop, it starts with normal gameplay with some original bits in there, then the platforms become tetominoes and it ties in perfectly with the gameplay. After the drop, it ends with a segment that glitches out in sync with the music and the level ends. It's very original and very well done and I absolutely l o v e it.
Consistency: 8/10
The level is very consistent through the whole thing, but loses two marks to some pretty jank stuff at the beginning, alongside that triple at 40% being an absolute pain in the ass.
Total: 36/40

There are the results, surprisingly on time actually. YeetDawg, pm me for the code and I'll get it as soon as I can, most likely by the end of the week.
Overall, the layout were really fun to play and judge. I had a blast doing this and honeslty would do it again, except I am not blowing another 20 euros out of my poket for people to enter again.
Thanks to everyone for entering the CC, and until I post again, bye!
