I finally got to glaze the Bill Mug yesterday  ! I used a squirt bottle thingy (I don’t know how to describe it) to outline the picture and words with black glaze. Then, I waxed the bottom so that none of the glaze would stick to the bottom (you’re supposed to do that so that it doesn’t fuse to the shelf when it gets fired). I also waxed over the picture so that the second glaze wouldn’t cover it.
Then I dipped it in a glaze called Iron Yellow, which was the closest color to yellow that the place where I take my classes has. Before it’s fired, the glaze looks reddish brown. But hopefully, once it’s gone through the kiln, it will turn out a light yellow. I will probably be able to pick up the finished piece in a week or two.🙃
(I know that the picture looks like it’s covered by a weird goop, but that’s just the wax. It won’t look like that when it’s finished... hopefully. )
