Hello, dear students, both ed and non ed. Extra fun for this amino hogwarts session is now here, knocking on your door. I am here to inform you about all the extra curricular clubs available and how to apply for them.

Classes have competition, sure. But the rush that comes with competing through a game of quidditch or a round of quiz remains unmatched. So, my question for you all is, are you ready? Ladies, gents and my non binary pals, this the moment you've been waiting for! *insert loud harmonic woah* You've been searching in the dark, your sweat soaking through the floor. *insert another loud harmonic woah*

Yeah, I need to calm down. I know this is all fun and everything but I still can't get too carried away, now can I? I still need to bring all the information I have with me down in this blog. Anyway, pay close attention, kids. This is no joke.

Extra-curriculars are a great way to earn house points. Even if a house is somewhat lacking behind in classes, the points gained through extracurricular clubs make up for it. I highly encourage all of you to make an effort and apply for extra curricular clubs and strengthen the chances of your house winning the house cup, which is being polished by our caretaker regularly, of course.

As Head of Extra Curriculars, I am here to let everyone know that applications are now open. Aside from classes AH has a host of clubs that we offer for students to partake in. Are you feeling ready to face off against the other Houses in some friendly competition? Do you want to earn more points towards the House Cup? If yes, then that is exactly where you need to be!

While the applications for quidditch were released days ago, those for other three clubs open today. In this blog, we will be announcing the quidditch stars of all the houses as well!

The organizers have worked really hard to arrange everything needed for a smooth ride towards success and they have ensured that all the extra curriculars are worth it. To learn more about all these activities, keep reading. The organizers and deputy of extra curriculars have put their blood and sweat into explaining everything to you!

What is AH Quidditch?

Quidditch might seem complicated at first, but fear not - the game is quite fun and much easier to understand with practice. This week Captains have been running tryouts and practices with their teams in order to prepare them for next weekend's games. With these practices and the help of their teammates, it will create much smoother games.

If you are curious though, please take a look at the stadium chat to look at some games. Feel free to scroll up and read through some matches.

What are EC IDs again? Can I get one for these?

Yes! While uned students could only become backups in previous years, this year you can sign up for any position. In fact, you don't need a Student ID to sign up for Quidditch at all! Anyone who becomes part of a Quidditch team will receive an Extracurricular ID which is separate from a Student ID. This means that you can Quidditch without ing for anything else during the event.

What is this year's quidditch schedule?

The AH Quidditch Cup is a single round robin tournament which means every team will face the other teams once. This means that there will be six matches in total. You aren’t required to be present for every match but do be aware that you are making a commitment to the team.

13 July - Ravenclaw v Slytherin

14 July - Gryffindor v Hufflepuff

20 July - Slytherin v Gryffindor

21 July - Hufflepuff v Ravenclaw

27 July - Hufflepuff v Slytherin

28 July - Gryffindor v Ravenclaw

Our schedule is flexible which means we can switch or reschedule matches to make sure as many players as possible are available for each game. Match times will be discussed among captains before each match.

Hello Potterpeeps!

This is Reign, the former Duelling Organizer, welcoming all the young wizards and witches to participate in the duelling competition held by this club.

This is a club which will make you witness the thrilling experience of firing at your opponent on a rapid exchange of spells to try and win the title of the Duelling Champion.

How does the Dueling Tournament Work?

To get a basic understanding of how the club activities work, I have outlined some steps for guidance which shall be helping you out throughout your time here.

Each house will send two representatives to compete and two backup representatives. The backups are needed to ensure that perhaps anything happens to the mains, they can fill in their position. The winner will advance to the semi-finals. The two winners of the semifinals then are faced off in the final.

Semi-finalists will have the opportunity to train with the club's organizers, which is me. The semi-finalists will duel in the final, and the winner will be selected.

As a bonus, to make this extra curricular more fun and interactive, we decided to add a new perk. The winner will have the chance to duel their favorite professor. There is also a showdown between fourth and third! It looks like this:

When will the representatives get chosen?

Duelling matches will begin as soon as the representatives are chosen. The house prefect shall start posting applications for duelling and you can start applying then. May the best dueller get chosen.

The Point System

The four winners from the first round will get 15 points, while the losers get 10. Then the ones battling for 1st and 2nd will get an ADDITIONAL 30 points, whereas 3rd and 4th get 15. Now the top four duellers will get even more points added on. 4th gets 40 points (70 points total), 3rd gets 60 points (90 points total), 2nd gets 80 points (125 points total) and 1st gets a whopping 100 points (145 points total).

Do you ever find yourself thinking about something, that could be considered as controversial—such as, “Was Voldemort more powerful than Grindelwald as a leader?” And feel like you have nowhere to discuss it?

Or perhaps your thoughts are simpler and you want to know, “Was Crookshanks really the Potter’s rumoured cat?”

If you, like me and many before you, find excitement in debating topics such as these as well as enjoy a hot cuppa on a rainy day, then perhaps you’ll find great interest in participating in Library Debates!

Beginning in the season “AH 2020”, by Ria, debates are a fun extra-curricular that is the first of its kind to blend houses.

That's right! If you would like to be a part of an EC that is not exclusive, AH Library Debates may be for you. Have you ever seen a Hufflepuff and a Slytherin debate against a Ravenclaw and a Gryffindor? Or maybe watching Gryffindor and Slytherin work together is something that's more impressive to you?

In AH Library Debates, all houses come together to discuss the possibilities of convincing strategy and conviction. Even if you think the Butterbeer at the Leaky Cauldron is far better than that at the Three Broomsticks, convince me to import my Butterbeer on a Saturday after a rough quidditch match.

If Madame Puddifoot’s has more action on a Tuesday than the busiest day at Zonko's, convince me to put down the mischief hat and have a lovely brunch.

All this and more if you us! There is plenty to discuss.

Quiz Tourney

Do you know what year the Whomping Willow was planted? Who brewed the first draught of living death? Could you recall what house Gilderoy Lockheart was in, in a heartbeat?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes - this could be the EC for you. The Quiz Tournament was originally started by Chrollo, and is an Amino Hogwarts original. It's certainly a highly competitive and overly stressful event, yet also a whole lot of fun and definitely worthwhile, so here's your chance to really get involved!

Quiz is a long standing tradition, and certainly one I hope you're interested in. For this simple ec, we recruit 2 students from each house and have them face off against a participant from another house in a timed trivia contest. There are 20 questions total asked to these competitors and, once questioned, they must wait to be called on before answering within the time limit. If they get it right you move on, if it's wrong the other person has the chance to answer.

Whichever competitor comes out with the most correct answers in the end wins that match and moves on in the bracket, while the loser stays behind.

Round 1 contains 4 separate matches, where the winners will come out with 15 points secured for their house before round two. The losers, on the other hand, return to their common rooms with 10 points each.

Round two consists of two matches. Here, the winners move on to the championship round while also each earning 30 points for their respective houses. The losers are placed in the runner up bracket while also receiving 15 more points each.

This runner-up round is a single match that determines third and fourth place. The fourth place participant will take another 40 points for themself, while third place earns 60.

The final round is the championship match that decides first and second places. The second place winner gets 80 additional house points, and the champion earns a whopping 100 points.

The questions can be about any topic in the wizarding universe, so definitely be well read on the subject if you're entering this ec! If you're curious about prizes, our points system follows the same pattern as duelling. We hope to see you ing!

The goal of this competition is to test ones trivial knowledge of Harry Potter. With that being said, stay prepared and focused during each round. Once you hit the buzzer to answer, you only have 20 seconds, that way we can ensure things are going quickly and everyone is playing fairly. If you're slacking off, you will run out your time and the question automatically moves over to the other participant, so if you want your best chance at winning, be sure that you're dedicated to the tournament.

Plot Summary

After last year's return of Voldemort and crazy events, you’d think the School year would feel mellow this year! But of course that is not the case. With impatient staircases, rude doors and falling candles, it is clear that the School itself is acting rather strange. Not only that, but Heistress Nazario herself does not appear to be in top condition as she delivers the start of the year feast.

It is later that same week that students discover the truth behind the strange event. By eavesdropping on the Staff meeting called in by the Heistress, the students learn that the Protective ritual the founders performed when making this castle, has been broken for centuries because of Slytherin’s departure. This Ritual allowed them to bind their souls and magic to the castle, bringing it to life. However, now the magic is fading…

In an attempt to save the school, the Heistress bound her soul to the school to replace Salazar Slytherin, only her magic is not enough and instead of helping out, she became cursed. The school is draining her energy, causing her to be sick, so sick that she fainted during the staff meeting.

Last night however, when students came to visit their poor Heistress, she revealed to be aware of their eavesdropping act from that Wednesday. She told them how she had found a Journal a few days ago, old pages written by Rowena Ravenclaw herself. Describing a vision of this very event. The texts are incomplete, but the Heistress could figure out that there was a solution to the entire thing, a solution that could only be done by students. The texts mentioned a painting, the first painting to ever hang in the castle, and was hidden in the Room of Requirement. So she set out to find it.

And the students did find the painting. Sir Theodore Peverell, an old Medieval painting with a bit of a temper and an evident crush on the late Rowena Ravenclaw. When he revealed himself to be the oldest painting in Hogwarts, he told the students he could only be of help if the students proved to be worthy of the knowledge. And gave them three queries.

With the power of teamwork they solved the queries and Theodore revealed what they had to do. The Founders of Hogwarts have prepared a trial each for the students in Rowena’s vision. Whoever completes all trials will have proven to be the ones able to save the school. Each trial complete will earn them a piece of a Time Turner, crafted by the founders. The students must retrieve all pieces and travel back in time to restore the bond the four founders shared.

Or this might be the end of Hogwarts…
