What is the Mythical News Committee? Well to put it simply; it’s the community’s very own newspaper. This committee reports on recent guild/committee activity, challenges and collaborations, the feature feed, and a whole lot more! There will always be something new and exciting to read about from us, and maybe you might be seen in one of the issues!

𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧

The Mythical News Committee or MNC for short is a committee that works to post a newspaper at the end of each month so that the community can catch up on all the latest updates and developments! In the newspaper itself there will be different segments talkings about different topics. The newspaper tries to cover everything that has happened in the latest month that way the of HOG stay up to date. The of the committee hand craft the newspaper themselves, ranging from interviewing, editing, writing and so much more!

𝗦𝗘𝗚𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦

Within the newspaper there will be different sections to read up on. A brief introduction will be stated at the beginning, an announcement section for any important information or changes to the community, challenges and events(, ongoing or completed), the top three picks of the feature feed, honorable mentions (which include posts, wikis chats or ments that deserve recognition or that are recommended to check out) and a tutorial or guide of the month to help the of the community. Finally, there will also be a post listed at the bottom of each newspaper to see what you all want to see from the committee each month and you can even recommend some posts or events to check out!

𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦

𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀

Although the role of editor is self explanatory they will be divided in to two types to make the flow of work easier to process.

Type 1; These editors will handle all the aesthetics and theme of each monthly newspaper making sure each issue looks presentable to the community.

Type 2; These editors will edit the layout and grammar check the writing from the reporters before adding it to the issue.

𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀

Type 1; They will be responsible for all the headlines of each issue; Announcements, Updates on the community, Updates from staff/committees, and any official posts that have been published in the last month.

Type 2; They will be responsible for writing the challenge and event section. Writing about the , ongoing or the recently ended challenges/events. As well as the prize winners and the people who hosted the challenge/event.

Type 3; These people will be responsible for the feature feed section of each issue. Talking about the top picks of the feed and write reviews on them(of course they’ll be positive ones). It’ll act like a showcase for the community to get more recognition and inform the who missed out.

The name itself is self explanatory, however there I’ll be responsible for gathering insight and information from the community. Interviewing winners from challenges or events, authors(of ocs or stories), or even staff.

These people will be in charge of writing the guide section of the newspaper. To write up a monthly blog, guide, or tutorial for the community to enjoy. They can range from a guide to creating a pantheon to a blog about mythical creatures in folklore.
