Star Sapphire started out as a timid young gem created by Lunarians synthetically. Their short hair already displayed an asterism effect—the result of a successful addition of tiny rutile needles to their hair, as a test. Their hair was a low-risk matrix for the test: they could always make more, and its low density made for an easier addition. While that was a success, Star themselves was severely lacking in direction or self-esteem. They hated the idea of fighting earth gems someday. It was Junebug, a Lunarian notorious for her instrumental skills and humorous personality, who taught Star the necessary skills to perform. They loved the lessons, and soon took to singing for crowds.

Nowadays, Star is your textbook flamboyant performer type. Ostentatious and vain, there’s nothing they like better than showing off their skills to anyone who will watch. That being said, Star also happens to be very flirty. Having grown up immersed in Lunarian culture, they are more experienced than most in the ways of romance. They aren’t against using their copious charms as a persuasion technique.

This doesn’t mean Star has a great degree of emotional intelligence, however. They can be painfully dense at times, even in matters of the heart. Many shallow relationships and few close ones now have them confused about what love really is. A new relationship, this time with a gem (Snow’s Amethyst) might be just what they need to figure themselves out.
