This is my entry for the #ATFC ! Yes I got this done right away because I was really excited about this contest. I’d say that my entry is more of what would be written on the back of a book if it were one. Like a summary in a way. Anyways, enough chitter chatter. Onto the entry!

Thank you for the feature! :0

The Earth is safe once more. But... for how long? How long will it be until he strikes again? What if he succeeds next time? We must stop him, in any way we can...

But what’s the point of trying to take this planet if the people you’re doing it for aren’t even there anymore?

The Armada was... never seen again. It was like as soon as it got sucked into that Florpus hole, it vanished. Any transmission that tried to get through was fuzzy and hard to make out. Though one thing was very clear to hear: the screams of their leaders.

After no sign of the Armada for months, the Irken race selected a new Tallest to take over. They needed leadership. Someone to guide them. Someone to continue their Operation and lead them to success.

Though Zim was entirely unaware of the changes happening on Irk. It was like his entire species as a whole just... cut him off from ing them. He continued to try and call the Armada to inform his Tallest of his newest plans, completely clueless to the fact that he was talking to a blank, fuzzy screen. He never got a response from them, though he didn’t seem to take notice nor care about that.

But Dib noticed. And every night when he’d peek through those cameras set up all over Zim’s base, he’d sit through those sad, pointless calls the false invader made, counting it as a victory for himself.

He realized that Zim’s leaders were gone. There was no point in the small Irken’s mission anymore. And the human boy would use that knowledge to his advantage.

The two rivals kept fighting. Every time Zim would mention anything of his Tallest, Dib would always bring up the point that they were gone. Zim never listened, obviously, as he knew that accepting the truth would completely wreck him.

Every night, that praise-seeking invader would hopelessly call his leaders, constantly convincing himself that they were there. That they were listening to him and applauding his efforts whenever he’d share what he was working on.

It was obvious that Zim was driving himself mad. Even Dib couldn’t help but notice how different the invader acted, especially whenever he brought up any mention of his leaders.

But what worried the human boy was how far Zim would be willing to go in order to prove himself. How destructive he could get without mercy.

Are we all just... doomed? It’s like he’s never going to leave. Never going to accept the truth. It’s driving him insane.

”Of course they’re still here! Zim’s mighty leaders would never abandon him!”

Its like he’s trying to convince himself of that...
