"can you believe she wore that?" woodam whispered into jinyoung's ear, not knowing that the person whom he was talking about. . . was right behind him.

"I believe she does know what she wore," ryujin spoke confidently, before opening her mouth again in front of the boy. "and I'm sure she doesn't appreciate you talking behind her back right before we're bound to perform."

woodam looks like he's seen a ghost, whilst the other four boys are laughing their heads off. the four other girls, were shaking their heads in disapproval with smirks hidden on their faces.

"boys, settle down." yeji managed to speak out as she adjusted her skirt. the four laughing boys quieted down one by one, yonggeun nudging woodam in the side before laughing quietly to himself. woodam, however, had a face red as a tomato as he tried to drown out his embarrassment.

"now, welcome to the stage. . . ITZY!" the representative yelled into the mic, the five beautifully dressed girls rushing backstage. the five boys have a thumbs up to the girls, who smiled in return, before getting back into position. the stage set moved up, and the girls were ready to perform.

as the song began and the girls began singing, hyunsoo looked at them in awe.

"they already seemed like seasoned artists. . ." the boy mumbled, yoojun nodding his head in agreement beside him. as the song ended, yoojun spoke, "how are we to top that?"

"we don't," yonggeun replied, earning confused noises from the four other males. "we make it equal. that way fans have a harder time choosing."

there was silence for the first couple seconds before the girls rushed back in, taking off their mics.

". . . smart." woodam released into the air.

"now, to the stage, D1CE!" the five boys quickly gave a group hug to themselves as they smiled to the girls. they got into position, and off they went to perform, to bring out either an equal, or even better, performance.

"hey, chaeryeong, look at them!" lia spoke, ushering said female over to the screen.

"look how charismatic they are!"

chaeryeong nodded, "you're absolutely right. they look like professionals already."

when they ended their performance, fans yelled and screamed as they did when the girls performed. it seemed to have been an equal performance, just how the boys wanted it to be.

"well done guys!" yeji smiled as she, and the other four girls, each gave a hug to the boys.

"thank you, but, we should also be saying that to you also." yoojun smiled in return, yeji's face now burning.

"oh, but we weren't that special. . ." she trailed off, leaving yoojun to speak once again. "don't kid yourself, you guys were amazing."

the two teams hugged once again, before letting go and sitting down. an awkward silence filled the air.

". . for the first time ever, we have a tie!" the representative exclaimed, leaving the of ITZY and D1CE confused.

"since we have no tiebreaker rules set. . . it appears both ITZY and D1CE will be our debuting teams! ITZY will debut under JYP, as the man himself seemed quite taken by their performance, and D1CE will be under Happyface, now alongside their seniors, Dreamcatcher! Congratulations, girls and boys!"

the words seemed unbelievable to them. they were both going to debut. they. . . they tied.

"see you on our debut stages, D1CE. until we meet again."

"see you soon, ITZY. until we meet again."

with that both teams smiled, before they both walked out onto the main stage, awaiting the screams of their fans. and that, was how their story began.
