Hey there, welcome! I'm Kanna, the *leader of the JEC, here with our third edition of the JEC Article. In this post, you can find many things, ranging from a Journey Book guide on our month's land, Kani Cove, to a coloring page, and everywhere in between. We in the group have worked hard on this post, and so we certainly hope you'll enjoy. Let's get right on in!

The JEC (or Jamaa’s Explorer Committee) is an official group here on AJA dedicated to Journey Books! Every month, we make three individual posts; these consist of our own group JBs, a quiz about the month’s JB, and an article encoming things like JB guides, tips, as well as activities like coloring pages. This post is the Article; here you can find a Journey Book guide to Kani Cove, tips on completing Journey Books, a challenge involving Journey Book(s) (with prizes), and more!

If you don’t know, Journey Books are that little book-shaped icon at the top of your screen on Animal Jam labeled, simply, “AJ.” Opening it will show a page with blank spots in shape of animals/plants. In the land labeled at the top are each of these organisms; clicking on them will fill up their spot in the Journey Book, and by clicking all of the organisms from the Journey Book, you will earn a (den item) prize.

We've posted two other posts this month, the first of which was our trials. As we've had a recent decrease of , as well as many on break, we thought it was time to reopen trials. Unfortunately they're now closed; however, trials have been chosen and will be invited to the groupchat shortly!

Last week, we also posted a quiz on the animals in Kani Kove's Journey Book- this is one of the posts that we make monthly. Check it out, you can earn sticker prizes from achieving a high enough score!

Now, our first Journey Book-related section of the post is the JB guide. Stuck on completing Kani Cove's Journey Book? Here, we have pictures and descriptions of all the locations of the animals to help y'all earn the prize faster.

First off, go to the bottom left of the screen, below Deep Blue’s sign. The Conch is walking on the ocean floor between the sign and the rocks below.

Stay in this section, directing your attention to the bottom of the screen. The Shrimp will appear swimming in this area.

Wait a bit more and the Cuttlefish will appear, semi-transparent, swimming between the plants and the bottom of the screen.

Now go up into the plants above. The Parrot Fish is swimming between the plants.

On the rightmost side of the plants, directly left of the sunken ship, you will also find the Sea Urchin.

Now go up, next to the sign for Tierny’s Aquarium. The Manatee should eventually swim out here.

Go right, and to the right of the ship’s mast. The Cormorant is diving around the school of fish.

Wait here, and the Hammerhead Shark will swim across the screen from the left.

Now go downwards, to the barrels below (the ones closest to the ship’s mast). The Spotted Snake Eel is in the left barrel.

Finally, simply wait here, and the Nautilus will eventually come and swim below the barrels.

Your Journey Book should now be complete!

We've compiled a few tips to help you while you're working on completing your Journey Book. While not necessary to use, they can certainly cut down on the time it takes to finish!

Stay focused.

While you're scouting out the items on your journey book, make sure the stay focused. Staying focused will make sure that you dont miss any of the animals and plants. Make sure you're paying attention while doing your journey book.

Be patient.

Having patience is another good tip for completing your journey book! If an item disappears or go away, you may want to wait for it to come back. , you're going to get everything on your first try, so waiting isn't a bad thing!

Completing the challenge below will earn you a prize of two choice stickers from any JEC JB(s)! These stickers can be used to earn a plethora of prizes from the group (check out our group wiki for more information).

Complete the Kani Cove JB in 10 minutes or less. To show proof, simply screenshot when you start and screenshot when you end.

Please have the first screenshot be in AJ, with a picture of the incomplete Journey Book and with the clock showing for your time; meanwhile, please have the second screenshot be in AJ, with a picture of the now complete Journey Book and with the clock showing for your time.

Using the Journey Book Guide or the Journey Book Tips on this post can be really beneficial and speed things up greatly, allowing you a better chance at finishing in time. I would also play with a friend, if I were doing the challenge, not only does this make the challenge yet more fun, but it also can help if you split up and communicate whenever an animal enters the screen!

Need a quick activity to the time? This coloring page is a great way to do so. Color in Kani Cove with ocean-y blues and greens, or, if you're feeling creative, see if you can put this underwater scene into a new setting!

This section features art of the group mascot, Juniper, made by artists of the JEC.

We will also start taking fanwork; if you would like to be featured in this section of a JEC mag, simply make art, an edit, etc of Juniper- reference found on the group wiki- post the fan work, and add the hashtag #jecfan! We can't wait to see what y'all come up with.
