Hello and welcome to another short story of mine. In honor of it being Easter, I've decided to create an Easter themed story for y'all to enjoy. I really hope you think it's very egg-citing. Haha we love my Easter puns. But, without further ado, let's get into the story!

Childish Dreams - Short Story-[C]Hello and welcome to another short story of mine. In honor of it being Easter, I've decided

It was a sunny, breezy day on the morning of Easter. Morgan Brooks, a teenage fox, was making her way through the city of Jamaa. She ed many shops including the Diamond Shop, Jam Mart Furniture, and the city's most prestigious shop, Alpha Headquarters. Morgan loved to walk around town, but it was never out of the ordinary. For what could happen to such an ordinary teenage girl? Nothing. But she was later proved wrong.

Yes, on that sunny Easter morning, Morgan had quite the encounter, one she'd never forget for as long as she'd live. She was buzzing past the Diamond Shop while trying to find a gift for her younger sister, Simone, for Easter. She knew the Easter bunny wasn't real, but her sister had just found out and was devastated. Morgan wanted to lift her spirits, but the stores were much too expensive for their poor family.

While writing a text to her father that she had no luck finding a good gift for the little girl, she hadn't been watching where she was going and accidentally ran into someone.

"I'm so sorry!" Morgan gasped, not raising her eyes to the person she'd ran into. "I didn't mean to, I'm just rushing around, trying to-"

"Everything is fine, Miss." The voice said to her. It was unlike something she'd heard before, it was high pitched, yet low pitched at the same time. The voice carried its way through the wind very noticeable, yet not noticeable. It's like it was there, but it wasn't at the same time.

Morgan lifted her eyes to the unknown animal only to find herself startled. She never knew this being actually existed! Everyone said it was a fake, a childish story, nothing to believe in! Even her father said so!

Yet he was right here in front of her. There were no doubts now.

"I'm the Easter Bunny." The animal said to her.

Morgan marveled at how unreal the so-called Easter Bunny actually looked. He was a tall bunny, much taller than her, and it seemed to have a pink and blue fur pattern that spiraled like cotton candy. In his hands were a basket full of many eggs, candy, and even toys which were probably for the young children of Jamaa. She didn't believe that he was actually here, standing right in front of her. Her dad told her such a thing didn't exist, but he was wrong! The Easter Bunny was right in front of her! But she wasn't about to believe him yet.

"It-it can't be!" She stuttered. "You're just a story, a fairy tale! There's no such thing as an Easter Bunny!"

The Easter bunny chuckled. "Then how about you care to explain how I am right here?"

Morgan had nothing to respond to that. He was right, the Easter bunny was real and she had living proof of it!

"How?" She asked, curious.

The Easter bunny cocked his head in confusion. "Well, I mean, my mom loved my dad so they-"

"No, not that!" Morgan held up her paw to stop him from going into any further, gross details. "How did you become so famous, and magical?"

He smiled. "Well, I do have the astonishing looks of a handsome man, don't I?" At the end of his sentence, he ruffled his hand through the hairs on top of his head in attempt to do the dramatic, hair fluff that humans do.

Morgan grimaced.

"Oh stop, I'm kidding with you. I don't know, I was just born this way." He shrugs.

"Well why is nobody screaming that you're here or anything, if you're really the Easter bunny?" Morgan asked, placing a paw on her hip. She was mildly curious, but didn't care much for the Easter bunny. She knew it was an imposter anyways. Such a magical being didn't exist.

"You're not screaming my name." He smirked.

Morgan rolled her eyes. "Oh just answer the question."

"Well they can't see me right now, only you can." He answered simply, like there was no other answer to the question.

Morgan's jaw dropped. "How is that even possible?" She did a full spin and gestured towards the bunny only she could see, but nobody saw him. They all looked at her like she was an idiot, or she was going crazy, but she wasn't! There was a bunny right here! How could nobody else see that?

The Easter bunny chuckled yet again. She wanted to punch him for that. "Oh young one, I have chosen you. You have such a kind heart and a clean soul, you were a clear choice to me."

"A clear choice for what?" She spat. "Your egg hiding, basket filling? Well guess what? I don't want in on any of that!"

"I have not chosen you to be my personal slave."

"Then what have you chosen me for?" She dropped her paw from her hip and instead, crossed her arms.

He smiled. "I have chosen to give you a gift to your little sister. Her faith in me, including your entire family's, have been destroyed because of a misconception of the world. I plan on fixing that by giving her a gift only a mystical being could provide."

Morgan groaned. "If you're gonna give her a magic wand or something, don't do it. She'll drive us crazy."

The Easter bunny looked offended by that comment. "What a disgrace to us. We do not give mortals such a thing, we grant them something else, something much more special."

Morgan gestured with her hands to get on with it. "Well, what is it?"

His lips curled up. "A wish. I will grant her a wish."

Morgan looked at the bunny with uncertainty. Nobody can grant anyone a wish, not a magical one. This can't be real.

"I know what you're thinking," He sighed, "You have lost faith in me, and that is not your fault. You don't believe I'm here. But I can assure you, whatever your sister wishes that follows our standards, we will grant her."

"How do you expect me to believe that?" She asked, still not believing this whole Easter bunny thing.

He winked, making Morgan uncomfortable again. "Just you wait." He turned around like he was going to walk away, but then he stopped again.

"Well are you going to leave or what?" Morgan asked. She was ready for him to leave, she couldn't take a moment longer of this.

He turned to face her yet again. "Morgan, right? Morgan Brooks?"

Morgan's eyes widened. "H-how did you know that?"

"I'm the Easter bunny, I know everything." He responded. And with a swift move of his cotton tail, he vanished from the scene, leaving Morgan Brooks alone again in the city of Jamaa.

But she could not forget that encounter. A mystical being, talking to her? No way. Absolutely no way...

Later that day, a mailman arrived to their house with an armful of envelopes for the Brooks family. Morgan's dad yelled for her to get the mail, so she did. She didn't expect anything out of the ordinary though, just a few extra letters. But what they received was mind blowing.

She opened the door for the mailman and all the envelopes came falling into their house.

"Oh my!" The mailmain yelled, startled. "I didn't mean to, this is just such a huge delivery!"

Morgan waved his guilty thoughts away. "No need to worry, it's just the mail."

Both animals knelt down to pick up the letters. But when Morgan picked one up and felt it, it was much thicker than the usual ones they received. There was more inside the envelope than normal.

Her brow furrowed. What could possibly make an envelope this big?

Her and the mailman finished scooping up all the envelopes and the mailman raced off to his next house to continue delivering mail.

Meanwhile, Morgan brought the envelopes to the kitchen table and began to tear them open. The first one she opened resulted in a squeal and tears streaming down her face. It was filled with money! Checks for diamonds and gems! Each envelope carried loads of it, too much for just the family alone.

But it couldn't be a coincidence, could it? No. The Easter bunny had nothing to do with this because it wasn't real. Certainly it had to be some generous animal in the city.

She picked up an envelope to search for a return address, but she couldn't find one. In fact, all the envelopes were just labeled to be sent to Morgan's house.

Puzzled, she called for her sister to come into the room so she could see if this was a coincidence or if the Easter bunny may have been involved.

"Simone, can you get in here?" She yelled, her voice booming off the deep walls of their small house.

Her younger sister, Simone, came bouncing into the room like she had just drank a million energy drinks. That wasn't surprising with Simone. She was a 4 foot 6 fox full of fun. At least, Simone thought that.

"What?" Simone asked, in her cute ten year old voice.

"Did you have anything to do with," Morgan lifted up one of the torn open envelopes full of money and shoved it in her sister's face. "This?"

Simone gasped and covered her mouth. She then squealed and turned into a million circles. She was about to jump up and down, but her sister, Morgan, stopped her with a touch of her hand.

"What did you do?" She whispered.

Simone smiled. "The Easter bunny came to my window and asked me to wish for something. I wished our family would be rich, and we are! The Easter bunny is real and I told you! You were wrong!" She lifted up her paw and pointed at Morgan. "You and dad were wrong!"

Morgan looked at her sister with a face of, you're so weird. She slowly grabbed the paw that was pointed to Morgan and dropped it to Simone's side. "What did the Easter bunny look like?"

"Oh, he was amazing Morgan! He looked like a giant bowl of cotton candy!" She squealed, jumping up and down.

Morgan's jaw dropped. For her sister just confirmed all her beliefs on the Easter bunny. What she saw was indeed real, not some kind of illusion. The Easter bunny was no myth, it was a real, magical being that roamed Jamaa.

So what did this mean for beings like Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy? Were they real too?

Only time could tell. Because Morgan Brooks would certainly have another encounter with them again.

Ahh, that concludes my short story about our friend, the Easter bunny. I know many of our childhood dreams were crushed because of the sad truth *cough*, but hey, childish dreams are fun to write and dream about. I think this is a perfect story for Easter and for just a little throwback to the younger days. Hoppy Easter!

And no, that isn't a typo, it's another pun!!!!!
