Newtopia || review

hey guys, welcome back to yet another blog from my side and it's again gonna be another review blog about this drama called Newtopia. It's a pretty decently rates drama so I'm sure a lot of you might've already watched it. I gotta say that after a long time, I've finally watched and completed a drama and it was totally worth it. Anyways, let's get started already!

so newtopia is a zombie drama. It's about soldiers and girlfriends and what not. Your basic zombie drama about warriors and survivors and ofcourse, the annoying bloodthirsty pieces of s**t. I had been looking forward to this drama since a long time ofcourse thanks to Jisoo and I finally completed watching it in like 3 daya and it was so fun.

now the genre of zombies mixed with comedy is definitely fun. Comedy alone is fun and then it's mixed with zombies so that's obviously an amazing combo. In the beginning, for around 1 or 2 episodes ig, the drama was majorly about the male leads' relationship. It was about the struggles of relationship, uk, long distance thing, communication issues and such. Maybe it wasn't that necessary but since the drama is about the main leads finally reuniting in the end, then obviously it was a good buildup.

the characters in the drama were amazing. The military setting in a zombie drama was a duo i didn't see coming hehe. The hotel was so elegant and then all the zombies. While it didn't explain the reason for the sudden outbreak, but the drama just went on fine with the entire thing. Each and every episode was gripping, especially after the 1st or 2nd episode when the real zombie thing begun.

the male lead, the military man, he was such an amazing character. He's not really your typical main lead who's the hero of the entire thing. Infact, he was just as regular as all the other characters and everyone did a phenomenal job. Now one thing I hated about the drama was that they really went on eliminating all the good characters. I mean, I know it happens in such dramas but the rate of elimination in this drama was just something else.

the scenes were extremely graphic but it was so weird, like in a good way, to have those gruesome scenes being portrayed in a funny way. It was something new for me and I think it made those gruesome visuals a bit more bearable. But seriously, i gotta give a salute to the graphic details, it was really bone chilling.

jisoo did such a great job with this role and I don't understand how can people criticize her for it. She really slayed. She was the hero of the drama to be honest. The way she went on fighting bravely and survived till the end was amazing. Her scenes always kept me on the edge of my seat. Actually, all of them did.

I really felt bad when Alex died. I mean, atleast they should've let him remain alive. He deserved it. And then again the guy who was bitten but remained normal for a long time because he was drunk. That was quite a good theory that you remain safe as long as you're drunk, like, wow. A lot of unexpected characters died which felt sad, but, nvm.

the train scene was actually the most scary for me. There were tons of people crowding against the glass walls and then all of them falling down the railway tracks, it was just so scary. And then the way Jisoo gave up her place for the little kid only for him to be eaten up by zombies was so heartbreaking again.

the soldiers' survival was epic. They lost so many of their colleagues and it was really tough. But through a series of humor and bravado, they made it out. The scene where the ML falls down in that teddy bear shop and then wears that costume to jump down, that was so funny lmao.

in the end, the main leads finally met. I loved that scene so much and the others also came back. All of the characters were so great and the entire drama as well. I loved watching this one and it kept me glued to the screen. I'd recommend everyone to watch it!
