Prompt: Day 15 : What is one thing you love/enjoy about winter?

I’m not even lying, my favorite thing about winter is that there’s no spiders, or bugs in general, but spiders are the important thing for me :sob:

This is so TMI, but I need y’all to understand why this is so big for me :skull:

I have extremely bad arachnophobia. I can’t even look at pictures or anything without freaking out.

It’s gotten a little better over the years. When I was younger it’d literally take me half an hour, at the LEAST, to spray a spider with spider spray, and I’d be hysterically sobbing the entire time.

Now I can do it A LOT quicker, without the hysterical sobbing too, but I still get really anxious and paranoid.

I swear if I see a spider and kill it, for the next like week I’m so paranoid. I’m constantly checking the walls, corners, and even watching the floor in case they’re near my feet.

I the one and only time a spider has ever touched me, I was sitting on the couch in the living room. It was on my knee, so of course I freaked out, tried to smack it off, jumped off the couch and then ran away. But then I lost sight of it and didn’t know where it went.

I’m not even exaggerating, I didn’t sit on that couch for at least six months.

Nowadays, I always have a can of spider spray next to my bed. I know it’s not good since it’s a bunch of chemicals, but it’s LITERALLY the ONLY way I can physically get rid of them. My body will not allow me to get close enough to step on them or anything. And I’m sure as hell not picking them up and putting them outside :unamused:

Anyway, so basically winter is the only time of the year I can actually relax :sob: it’s only during these three months that I can live my life without constantly being on edge, worrying about spiders being in my bathtub or next to my bed :skull:

That’s my main reason for loving winter. I also like the vibe and how pretty it is. I love looking at the snow and curling up under my blanket. But there being no spiders (and other insects) is the biggest factor for me :relieved:
