[ lea ] - weki meki ‘i am me’

hello there, it is i again, and this time i'm here to appreciate one of my most favourite girl groups in kpop : weki meki. they recently released their 5th mini album titled 'i am me.' and to say that i'm obsessed is an understatement. i in fact love this album so much, i considered doing a kaca review of it (and that may still happen someday), yet i've just been way too busy to do so. hence i'm here today to tell you about this incredible release which completely stunned me.

with this album, the girls are going into a very natural, very simplistic direction - visual-wise. i absolutely adore the concept pictures, as they show the with minimal makeup in simple, yet graceful outfits. the pictures emit an atmosphere of comfort and peace, which goes very well with the main theme of the album - i am me. it almost feels like, in the storyline, the girls are becoming to accept who they truly are behind all the facades they put up in the past. i absolutely love the concept and the aesthetics of this album, and the songs only live up to my expectations as well.

the mini-album consists of six songs, with the first song 'siesta' serving as it's title track. the word 'siesta' refers to a short nap, from which the listener - adressed as 'you' in the song - is now waking up from. thanks to them, the protagonist is now able to see a clearer, brighter future ahead of them while gaining both confidence and happiness. this song serves as hhe perfect opener for the following five tracks, which deal with dream-like themes such as light, hope and grace in a very metaphorical way. i recommend you go and listen to the tracks themselves, as they range from ballads to contemporary instrumentals and completely wowed me myself. one song that i do want to highlight here though is 'who am i'. this is most likely my most favourite track from the entire record, as the melodic chorus completely blew my mind and stuck with me like no other song has in the near past. the girl's voices and their harmonies stand out so beautifully in this song and i swear if i had to listen to this song for the rest of life, i'd be extremely content.

please, even if you aren't into weki meki that much or you don't listen to girl groups a lot, please check out this release. i promise you won't regret it. it's so so good and it definitely deserves giving weme their first win. they deserve it so incredibly much. 100/10 would listen to for the rest of my life, gladly.

[ miri ] - kyung ‘don’t flirt’

for this i picked yet again a block b member who might be one of the less talked about ones. and in fact it's a cover he did for 'king of masked singer'. that's a show where taeil and minhyuk also appeared on while taeil's performance might be the most known, especially that one after he came back from the military. anyway it's about kyung this time and the way he covered this beautiful song by winner. and it's actually so interesting how you can easily recognize his voice while he simply has such an addictive and unique voice tone. plus this gives him an opportunity to show his impressive as well as calm exciting sounding vocals. i mainly love how he picked a song by winner while delivering like it's one of his own. and like their friendship is so precious. anyway he suits such calm yet slightly upbeat songs with a cheerful undertone to it so amazingly. it's like listening to this easily makes one feel so excited and joyous, especially because his energy while performing is so incredible and it's just that everything about this is so addictive. i also love how he's doing so well with these rap parts. i mean he's more known as a rapper i guess, so him rapping with such a laid-back flow and charisma is not a surprise for anyone. but his vocals could be unexpected for some even though he's basically so skilled in everything ksjs i simply adore his voice and elegance to the singing so much while i also can't get over this version with the live band to it. there's just something so positive and energetic about this while it s the song in such a heartwarming way. plus him switching up his vocal range in the end as a highlight sounds so impressive while he has incredibly pretty vocals. in the end i just truly enjoy listening to him having so much fun on stage while performing something his close friends produced and delivering such stunning vocals

[ sania ] - hello monster

I am actually surprised that I have not spoken about this drama before, just because it is a literal masterpiece. I have always loved darker, psychotic-themed K-Dramas - which is probably why I thoroughly enjoyed watching this one when it was released. However, it is not your typical dark, gothic-ish K-Drama - the twists and the way the story pulls you in, it leaves you wanting more. It was just perfectly written and those particular scenes just have your heart clenching in pity and pain, because you really start to sympathize with the characters and understand why they have changed so much, and act the way that they do. This was actually one of the first dramas I watched of Park Bo-gum and my god- I was bawling because of his character. I can't say much because it will spoil the series, but he nailed his role. It's like the role was made for him only, which is why he did such a great job. Don't even get me started on the OSTs- When it comes to choosing which K-Drama to watch, OSTs are always one of the most important components because a good OST just really sets the mood and to me, shows that the series will be just as good. The OSTs for "Hello Monster" really give you goosebumps. They match perfectly with the theme, and even though I've seen this drama so many times now - I would love to erase my memory of watching it, just so I can have that experience of watching it for the first time again. I when I first watched the series, and because I was so hung on it - I watched so many fan-made videos on Youtube and clips from the series, it was just that good. I am going to say this right now, but I need Seo In-guk and Park Bo-gum to make a comeback together, because their chemistry is just crazy. Their acting is top-notch and off the charts - they are literally one of my favourite duos and I would love to see them come back at least once, and act in another heart-clenching but dark drama like this.

"Hello Monster" (also known as "I You" is a South Korea television series starring Seo In-guk, Jung Na-ra, Choi Won-young and Park-Bo Gum and aired in mid-2015 for 16 episodes. It revolves around the story of a genius profiler Lee Hyun (portrayed by Seo In-guk) who returns back to South Korea after something from a case he's been sent triggers a memory which he thought that he'd lost forever. Without knowing, one of his team Cha Ji-an (portrayed by Jang Na-ra) has been investigating him as his father was murdered and his brother disappeared under mysterious circumstances involving a criminal named Lee Joon Young (portrayed by Do Kyungsoo of EXO) - whom they both want to find and get incarcerated. Each of them seeks to unravel the other, not realizing that they have been drawn into a dangerous game of cat and mouse by a master player and that evil and truth are both closer and more twisted than they think. I am surprised that the show didn't get a lot of high ratings, because it is honestly one of the best series out there. If you are someone who isn't a fan of sensitive, dark topics and serial killers - I wouldn't watch this, but if you're like me and you do; I would 100% give it a go because wow. Park Bo-gum definitely captured everyone's hearts with his beautiful performance, why is why I had to talk about in this edition of BRT. If I had to give this drama a rating out of 10, I would give it a solid 9. Just like with every other drama, certain parts could have been altered to be perfect but other than that, I have zero faults and I highly recommend it.

[ miri ] - ukwon ‘hit the stage’

i'm back with another recommendation which in fact is block b related. last time i've talked about them as a whole while for now it's about yukwon's hit the stage performance in episode eight. i think that most probably know his joker performance yet i went for this one. i haven't actually watched the show, but like i've read a comment that the concept for this round was like crazy or chaotic which definitely fits block b as a whole so well. that person also mentioned that it's no wonder that he won this round based on the theme they were given. i mean like he divided his performance in three different parts which were done with seperated songs while all of it share such joy and excitement. he thought about an overall fun performance which he delivered with three different highlights based on each song having like a similar style yet obviously having their own uniqueness to them. plus i guess he went for more of a hip hop feeling to his dancing while that's a style which he literally owns, especially based on his natural charisma but also insane confidence. i also can't get over the way he dances in such a precise and controlled way. honestly at first it seemed like more of a playful and loose choreography, but he actually added so many sharp and collected moves which are so difficult to execute. you definitely need a strong body control for this which is something he absolutely has. he's also easily one of my favourite dancers based on how he understands and interprets music as well as how he's feeling the rhythm. he's such a skilled and intriguing dancer which makes watching him perform so breathtaking

[ seo ] - fromis_9 ‘feel good’

fromis_9 always releases some of the best songs and they never fail to amaze me with their flawless discography, and it was no different when feel good was released! this song is honestly one of my top songs of all time, everything about it screams perfection and i could talk about it all day for days, it’s that good and if you haven’t heard it you’re missing out big time!

from there intro it’s addicting, the melodic beat catches your attention straight away along with the beautiful vocals of the . it’s a song you instantly start to move along to due to the upbeat and happy feeling it gives you, it’s a happy virus in the form of a song basically. the verses are very upbeat and it turns into a smoother (vocal wise) pre chorus which breaks up the more intense upbeat sounding chorus and verses, i think the differentiation since it allows for a little auditory break for the listener. as i said, fromis never disappoints with their title tracks. since debut they have released masterpiece after masterpiece, feel good was a perfect addition to their flawless track of perfect tracks. a thing i really enjoy about feel good is the lyrics too, it’s such a happy song that makes you feel overall happy about life! it’s telling you to enjoy life and how people around you can make you feel so free and happy. i love the message as usual from fromis_9!

this era was absolutely perfect for the of fromis and they all captured my eye in different ways, they all shined so much with this song and i was able to really enjoy each part as it was. feel good makes me feel good, as cheesy as that sounds. it’s like finding a little place that only you know and it just becomes your happy place, somewhere only you feel happy. and that’s a rare occasion and we should cherish that feeling, so stream feel good and enjoy life!!

thank you all for reading!

have a great holiday from

us in brt to you!
