What is floriography?

Floriography is the 'language of flowers' and has been practised for thousands of years across different cultures. It was popularised in Britain during the Victorian era when learning the symbolism behind each flower became a popular hobby.

Birth flowers and their meanings.

Carnations come in a variety of colours each with a different meaning. Pink means affection, red refers to love and iration, and white represents innocence and pure love.

Snowdrops signify the end of winter and are a symbol of hope and beauty.

February

Violets signify loyalty, wisdom, and faithfulness, and were once gifted to people to tell them that you'll always be there for them.

Iris symbolism depends upon the color. Yellow irises symbolize ion, purple irises symbolize royalty and wisdom, blue irises symbolize

March

Daffodils are seen as a representation of rebirth and new beginnings. They are strongly associated with Easter because of this reason.

Jonquil are traditionally given to someone in a bunch for good luck and happiness; a single jonquil is thought to bring about misfortune.

April

Each color daisy represents something different. The white daisy symbolizes purity and innocence; yellow means joy and friendship; pink represents affection; and red symbolizes love and romance.

In the language of flowers, a bouquet of sweet peas is a way to say goodbye or thank you for a lovely time. It can also mean blissful pleasure, good wishes, kindness, gratitude, and friendship depending on the intention of the gifter.

May

Lilly of the valleys have been associated with motherhood, sweetness, purity, and humility. It signifies a return to happiness, likely due to its time of bloom and the anticipation of summer.

Hawthorn have long been a symbol of hope. Other associations include its ability to mark the entrance to other worlds, with a strong connection to fairies.

June

The rose has long been a symbol of love, beauty, and affection. Each color rose holds a different meaning. A red rose means ‘I love you’ and is a sign of romance; pink represents happiness and iration; a white rose symbolizes innocence and purity; orange means desire and excitement; and yellow represents cheer and happiness,

The honeysuckle traditionally symbolized happiness and affection for a new love. It has also been known to represent nostalgia for first loves or old flames.

The larkspur has long symbolized positivity, loving bonds, dedication, and sincerity. Each larkspur color holds a different meaning. Blue, which is hard to find in the world of flowers, means dignity and grace; pink symbolizes fickleness; white represents happiness and joy; and purple is a sign of first love.

Water lilies, most notably the white variety, traditionally symbolize purity, innocence, and chastity. Pink water lilies signify joy and friendship; red means ion and romance; blue represents calm and wisdom; and yellow symbolizes energy and new beginnings

August

The Gladioli comes in a variety of colors and has long been a symbol of strength, victory, healing, and honor. Red symbolizes love, romance, and ion; pink means comion and a mother’s love; white represents innocence and purity; yellow symbolizes friendship and joy; and purple means fortune and beauty.

Poppy's have been a long-time symbol of remembrance, poppies’ opiate qualities make them symbols of sleep, peace.

September

Asters have long been a symbol of love and wisdom, patience and beauty. It has also been associated with faith, friendship, and purity. Purple asters are considered a royal color and a symbol of wisdom, white asters represent innocence, red is a sign of devotion and ion, and pink symbolizes love and kindness.

Morning glories have long been a symbol of love that was never returned, but have also been seen as a sign of undying love.

Each color holds a different meaning: blue represents enduring love, desire, and power; purple symbolizes grace, wealth, and hopefulness; pink is a sign of gratitude and energy; red means ion and strength; white, like many other flowers, symbolizes purity and innocence.

October

In more recent times, Marigold have been linked to optimism and prosperity, cheer and joy, love and strong emotions, wealth and success.

Cosmos have long symbolized order, harmony, and balance. Others believe it is a sign of peace, love, joy, and innocence. A red cosmos represents love and ion; pink means a mother’s love; yellow symbolizes friendship; white is a sign of faithfulness and devotion.

November

Chrysanthemums symbolize loyalty, friendship, and joy, but each color conveys a specific meaning. For example, red represents true love, white signifies innocence and honesty, and yellow symbolizes a wounded heart or neglected love.

Peony Pink peonies are some of the most commonly given. They symbolise good luck and prosperity. Red peonies symbolises ionate love and romance. White peonies symbolise purity, innocence, hopefulness, and faith.

December

In Victorian times, the gift of a narcissus meant you were “the only one.” A bouquet of them is a way to express pure or unconditional love.

Holly has long been a symbol of happiness, optimism, good fortune and peace.

Disclaimer : I used the Victorian flower language to explain the meaning/symbol of each flower since it's the one I'm studying in my free time. Each birthflower can have different meanings in different cultures and sometimes religion like Buddhism.

I finally had some time to read this and it was worth the wait! I really love all the bouquets but ACE really stands out; the color palette is just my type... lowkey thinking about re-making one of these bouquets for myself 🤔 :relaxed:

It can be trial and error but I try to have short to the point prompts for these so they usually turn out close to what I want. The most struggle I have with these is group logos because I imagine what they look like from the beginning and get frustrated when they don't look close to it :sweat_smile:

That's what I have the most issues with are the logos and lightsticks. I don't even what AI I used now, but it was one of the free ones. I think your logos always turn out great but I get how it can be frustrating if it's not how you envision it.
