i just finished the live action of 'one piece'. i binge-watched it. i know nothing about the anime/manga, but i saw a few scenes already and so many videos of the cast. i just had to watch it. i'm not that into animes, so i've never watched it. let alone the fact that it's so long. i know that it's one of the most popular and loved things ever, but i don't think that i would watch the original anytime soon. however, i love the adaptation. i just know that the cast is perfect. i had an incredible time watching this. it was a rollercoaster, but i enjoyed it so much. i laughed, giggled and cried. this made me feel so many emotions all at once. i love the characters so much. this simply is soo good. i really love luffy as a main character. sanji is also an amazing character. but zoro?? :flushed: i know i'm not the only one. but he's exactly the type of character which i love so much. he's literally the definition of it. he's simply incredible. plus mackenyu?! he's extremely gorgeous. he's so pretty, i'm speechless. he was meant to portray zoro. also the friendship between luffy and zoro?? and the way zoro became more easygoing and expressed him liking the others as friends?? like he really became a part of the crew. the times when he smiled?! i adore him. i feel like i need to know the original in order to have more of this story. maybe, i'll end up starting the anime soon, who knows ksjs anyway, in honor of this i changed my theme to a zoro one 🥺 also you'll find me watching fmvs and all of that in the following weeks

And I'm really excited to see the review of someone unfamiliar with the source material! One Piece is one of my top 2 favorite anime/ manga and I'm fully caught up, so I knew my viewing experience would be super different from someone basically going into it with no expectations, so aaaa I'm so happy you had a great time with it!
Honestly the casting was fantastic! And I love that the costumes and sets didn't sacrifice the silliness of the source material for the sake of making it look more realistic in live action!
One Piece is absolutely a story that builds characters wonderfully, and for me the length helps to make certain character moments in the plot hit harder. Plus the story is just so so good? I mean, I fell in love with it in 2015 and I'm still obsessed :joy:
But yeah! I 1,000% understand that the series is way too long to actually check out, but if you like the characters there's so much good stuff you can check out in the anime/ manga!
(And my recommendation for anyone, if you watch the anime maybe only watch it up until the time skip, and then switch to the manga because the pacing of the anime gets really bad and the story really drags, but the manga is wonderful! 🤩)

I wanted to try and watch a little bit of the anime before the live action came out just to get a little introduction but I only managed to get to episode 48. I really enjoyed the live action though I think it turned about amazing.
that's interesting. i do think that the live action is incredible. the cast is so good

Omg I was also really excited for this even tho I never watched the anime (it's just too long, I don't think I'll ever watch it),,, I just started it yesterday but had time to only get through half the first episode but I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it, makes me even more excited to continue it
same, i was so excited about this. even though i avoided the anime, because of its length. i absolutely loved it. hopefully, you'll enjoy it so much as well :eyes:
