Not some people coming from Donghae’s Instastory just to bash 1IL’s new song (or rather the music video) :unamused: . I understand it’s unexpected especially for those who don’t already know 1IL. Was I surprised by how R 19+ the music video was? No. But that’s because I’m a long time HISTORY stan/Kyungil bias so absolutely no shock factor here at this point for me. That & I listen to some khh artists who have very explicit songs so I’m probably desensitized by now

I think the fact of the matter is people specifying coming because of Donghae & then proceeding to say “what the f is this”, bash Kyungil, or criticize him saying that his music video is a bad example for children/calling him a bad role model. When has Kyungil ever been a role model for younger people? Why should he have to be? My feelings of this is basically towards all idols tbh. Unless their target audience is children (even then I feel like we still shouldn’t force that kind of pressure onto anyone), I don’t see why people think idols or solo artists have to be a “good role model” for others. I feel like it’s too much seeing people get mad if they smoke, curse, have explicit videos, etc. I’ve seen several soloists get hate on for this & it’s ridiculous. Music is a form of art.

Just because his music video contains things people don’t like doesn’t mean he is “promoting/telling people” to live that life style. Kyungil is technically not even an idol anymore & makes music that is more of a rnb/khh style now. He’s grown man & I’m pretty sure his fan base is mostly if not all adults. HISTORY (the kpop group he uses to be in) wasn’t for young children in the first place. I’m not saying they didn’t have younger fans. I was 15 when I started stanning them, but most their songs/music videos did have somewhat of a mature vibe to it. I had friends who would listen to their songs but not watch the videos because it was too much for them (which is completely fine).

The point is, it’s okay not to like it but the way /some people are expressing it is not okay. Is this type of video for everyone? Absolutely not & that’s okay. Just say it wasn’t what you expected & wasn’t your style. Or click off & ignore it. Bashing him as a person, calling him a bad role model, saying you don’t know why Donghae would ever recommend his music, etc. is just plain rude & mean. You can express your dislike for it in a way that isn’t hateful. Donghae didn’t promote it for anyone to go there & hate of Kyungil. I doubt he would like it that some of his fans are doing that.

Anyways regardless of the music video, the actual song is a bop imo & I wish people would focus on that rather than hating on the music video 🤷‍♀

Same. If I don’t like something I just click out. I don’t get why some people feel the need to be rude 🤷‍♀
