hello babies this week i am here to recommend someone special to me. the bane of ari’s existence but everyone else’s favourite satanic papi, jhnovr. depending on who you ask, the last part is a joke but tbh all of us know he is a sexy devil so there’s no need to beat around the bush, right? :smiling_imp:

n e ways i’m not here to write a section about his face but instead i’m here to appreciate our king’s artistry :weary: it would be unfair for me to sit here and try to categorise jhnovr’s music as one thing. i mean sure, he falls under the big umbrella term of r&b but he has done such a massive variety of sounds and vibes that it’s hard for me to sit here and say “yes, jhnovr does this one thing”. the only thing i can say definitively is that jhnovr knows how to bring out the sexy in every sound :kissing: he just has that voice... how the hell do i even describe it ??! it’s the ‘i became a bit feral when i first listened to him sing because his voice is so undeniably beautiful that a mere mortal like myself had no chance at withstanding this level of perfect’ kind of voice :broken_heart: it was a whole trip but it healed my goddamn soul so i am not gonna complain.

wow, that was a whole goddamn detour but i plan on :sparkles: blessing :sparkles: your playlist with some jhnovr songs now because i am oh-so-generous... and because i know too well that so many people don’t know this masterpiece of a man and i’m making it my duty to change that. if you’re a fan of khh and want something that leans towards hip hop then i’d say give <<lit>> a listen. if sexy r&b vibes are your thing <<for real>> and <<baptism>> are perfect. for those who want old school r&b vibes, <<body>> and <<devil’s pie>> will be perfect additions :smiling_imp: and let me not forget <<strangers again>> for everyone who’s a fan of breakup songs. trust me, there’s something for everyone despite the fact that jhnovrs discography is still quite small. still, man’s has all the time time in the world to keep releasing bops :kissing_heart:

in conclusion... jhnovr has converted me to the dark side or something so like... us and stan my king

artist, xydo ❜

jae

holasss  🏻 jae here, it's sure been a while since I wrote a wrt section oh my :')) but it feels nice to pop in here once again! I've been needing to rant about xydo and what a perfect place for me to do so, so let's goooo :sunny:

i first discovered xydo a few months ago when his song "spotlight" was recommended to me by a friend. I absolutely adored the song, it's a really easy-going, soothing song perfect for when you just want to relax-- on the first listen I was sold and it went straight in to my playlist! unfortunately it took me a while before I started to branch out further in to his discography-- a mistake i make on one too many occasions with artists... will I ever learn? :sleepy: I'd say his song "betting" is what really set my love a sail. that song is just-- phenomenal, to say the least. what an absolute tune, the beat itself is so fun and groovy, how exactly does someone stay still while listening to this? and then to have his gorgeous falsetto accompanying it, my ears have never felt such joy. his vocals are a whole treat, I will never not be in utter awe listening to him sing his heart out. like I truly am mesmerised by his voice, the amount of goosebumps I get flooded with should speak for itself-- the sweet-toned angelic sound of his voice is just simply breathtaking. after falling head over heels for "betting" i knew it was finally time to check the rest of his discography out-- and boy did the jams just keep on flying in, like I am in love? to suggest a few I'd say, "for sure", "#ootd" and "s.l.y" 🦋 his discography has this warm, melodic vibe throughout all his songs which makes them a nice calming listen, something I think everybody needs in their lives.

i really highly recommend giving xydo a listen because I guarantee you will not regret it! he is truly an exceptional vocalist, and of course artist. he deserves more hype-- so don't be like me and wait too long to check out his music, it is a big regret of mine! :weary:

choreography, odd eye ❜

sania

I have not done a choreography review in such a long time, but when I did an album review for Dreamcatcher's comeback - I knew I had to snatch this opportunity to talk about this masterpiece of a choreography. Dreamcatcher undeniably have some of the best choreographies that I've seen in a while and when I saw the performance version for "Odd Eye", I knew I had to talk about it - just because there are so many parts that I fell in love with and I know that many people will too. So without any further hesitation, let's get into this "Odd Eye" choreography review/recommendation. Based off of the actual song, I am expecting the choreography to give me a similar vibes - female empowerment, badass etc. to really create a balance between the two. I've noticed that in a lot of Dreamcatcher choreographies, the choreographers tend to incorporate a lot of different formations - both common and uncommon, so I am hoping that the choreographer did the same for "Odd Eye" because it would help them stand out a lot more. So the choreography starts off with a common formation before it immediately transitions into the shape of an eye at 0:10. It's literally just such a genius idea to start off the choreography with a unique formation, because it really excites the watcher and makes them more curious to know how the choreography will progress. I am not too bothered if choreographers tend to use the more common formations, but creating new ones just automatically sets them apart from other choreographers. I will also mention that using common formations is very risky because to some people, they may be too common and end up looking boring, losing the wow factor - so I am really glad that these particular choreographers are using a combination of common and uncommon ones; a very clever idea on their part. The transition from the choreography during the intro into Yoohyeon's verse was very quick but smooth. My only criticism during this part is that the don't look fully in a uniform formation with one another. Everyone else is basically in level with one another apart from Gahyeon and Handong.

I would have personally preferred it if they were more in level with one another, because it would have just made the choreography look more uniform and professional but other than I have no faults within this particular part. Another part of the choreography which I enjoyed during this part of the song, is how the move with each beat. It's not an easy thing to do in synch at all, but the honestly did such a great job that you can tell how much they must have practiced to able to perfect every movement. The movements during SuA's part at 0:33 really worry me because there is clearly a lot of energy being put into every part of her body and I feel like when singing live, it will be more difficult to control her breathing. I feel as if there is a lot of energy being used and I definitely can say that the choreographer could have lowered the amount of energy being used so SuA would be able to both sing loudly (without getting breathless easily) and execute a powerful performance. 0:37 is probably what I'd call the killing point of the choreography; I love how the choreographer put a lot more emphasis on JiU's arm movements, compared to her legs so that she is able to put more energy into her singing during this part - instead of relying on the pre-recorded track. I am not saying it is a bad thing to rely on the pre-recorded track, but I just personally prefer it when musicians sing live because I feel like emotions and whatnot are better portrayed in live vocals instead of pre-recorded ones. I don't think I mentioned this earlier, but I am such a huge fan of how Dreamcatcher's choreographers have now been including back-up dancers a lot more frequently. I just feel like back-up dancers add a high level of excitement to choreographies, so I really am glad that the choreographers decided that it was time for a change and decided to incorporate them into the choreography. At 0:48, we finally hit the chorus and oh my goodness - I love it so much. I don't think it's my favourite chorus choreography from Dreamcatcher, but it is definitely near the top of my list.

0:56- the clever incorporation from "Boca" aka their previous comeback, that was just *chef's kiss* and once again, a really clever idea from the choreographer. The choreography during the second part of the chorus at 1:01 is also one of my favourite parts because I love how the spotlight is on Siyeon and it is clear that she is center during this part. I know so many choreographies in which it was so difficult to figure out who is meant to be center during the particular part and it resulted in me focusing on the wrong member, instead of the one who we are meant to be focusing on. But DC's choreographers have really done a great job by creating a balance between not only the back-up dancers and the , but also between the actual themselves. Each member has their time to shine and it's clear through the use of unique formations that the choreographer decided to use. This choreographer knows the word "balance" really well and I wish other choreographers learnt from them. They know when to focus on particular body parts, during certain parts of the choreography and when to let the use their full energy/when to let them rest. I don't know if these are the same choreographers from DC's earlier days, but if they are - they have improved and become a lot more knowledgeable since then and it's really clear, especially when you compare this particular choreography and one of DC's older ones. 2:10 is also undeniably one of my favourite parts of the choreography - SuA just does such a great job and the amount of power she puts into one movement- it's just so satisfying to watch and she definitely radiates the aura of a main dancer. 2:40, this part is just- phenomenal. I love the smooth flip that all of the and back-up dancers do before it transitions into a body roll. I was worried at first because it does look very draining so I thought that it would be hard to sing whilst doing it, but I didn't mention this - Dreamcatcher are really good at controlling their breathing when they sing so it isn't too much to be worrying about.

The kick at 2:47- like kick me please? Okay I'll stop- but wow. I was not expecting the kick but it was definitely a clever addition because it just makes the whole choreography really put more emphasis or even create new definitions for the words "female empowerment" and also "statement-making". 2:56- this is why I love this particular choreographer. He/She/They allowed for Siyeon and Yoohyeon to basically rest whilst they belted out the last few ad-libs before they do the "hip thrust movement" and then the song ends in the combination of a classic formation and a flower one. I am so happy they allowed for Yoohyeon and Siyeon to rest because it just makes it easier for them to sing the ad-libs. I know that Siyeon, for example, is a very stable vocalist but sometimes Dreamcatcher choreographies can take up a lot of energy and you can also sometimes hear in the ' voices how tired they are. However, the choreographers have improved a lot since then minus a few parts of the choreography which I would change. And if I had to give it a rating, I'd give the choreography for Dreamcatcher's "Odd Eye" a 9/10.

cover, the rhyme by fatou ❜

bhoomi

as a massive k-hip hop fan, i’m so happy to finally see a black idol in the industry as the hip-hop movement was created by black people in the bronx 🏙 :microphone: and as they say, you cannot outdo the doer, and fatou has proved this countless times ! while listening to the entire cover, not once did i feel like she was forcing her style ☆゚everything from her flow to her deep tone comes naturally to her and not only that, she sounds so soothing too ♡__♡ i noticed that she not only served in korean, but also english, spanish a n d dutch ଘ(੭ ˘ ᵕ˘) imagine outselling in multiple languages, yes, fatou can relate :trolleybus: :cat2: ‍⬛ her rhythm is smooth and catchy and you can hear a hint of confidence in her voice when she raps away which i love !! i see wayy too many cocky rappers nowadays, who think their verses are cool and catchy but they sound quite the opposite (。O ⩊ O。) it’s funny when you see the contrast between her and them : she’s so much more skilled yet she’s humble about it~ her whole demeanour screams laid-back, as if she’s a professional, which i loveee ✦° even her little gestures and actions are chill yet have lots of variation :ocean: :camera: i think she looks so stunning without trying too (they finally matched her foundation to her skin tone thank g o d) so i’m not surprised she was scouted due to her beauty ! it’s nice seeing her with her natural, gorgeous hair too > < i feel like she knows her self-worth which i ire her for ꩜ fatou has some undeniable potential and i just know that she is gonna be a strong contender in the rap game, and i’m extremely proud of her for this ꒰⑅ᵕ༚ᵕ꒱ i just hope her company gives her a sufficient verse during their next comeback so that she can display her skills to the best of her ability — or, even better, allow her to finally write some raps of her own !

ka , riko ❜

sania

Hey, dumb ass- Oh wait, because this is technically an appreciation for you - I have to be nice, right? Okay okay, I'll be nice this time. So, I knew I had to snatch this opportunity to do a mini appreciation for you Rikomeo because I feel like you just deserve it for being such a great brother and a close friend to me on KA. Oh and also because you're one of my favourite dumb dumbs. For those of you who don't know, Riko and I met in the "Cooliest" chatroom; one of KA's more popular and active chatrooms. I'll be honest, I thought he was going to murder me in my sleep at first. I don't know why but he just gave me the vibe that he did not want to associate himself with anyone, hated everything and was just angy (yes angy, not angry) at everything/everyone. We then ended up PMing each other after Riko was having a dilemma and I basically tried to help as much as I could - Even if I don't know someone, I still try to help as much as I can if I know someone needs it and I am so glad that we spoke that day, because we got close so quickly. You may be surprised, but it actually takes me a while to get close to someone but with Riko - there was just something about him that made me realize that I basically misunderstood him and he's actually just a protective softie with a fun, vibrant personality and I'm so happy that I can call him my older brother, even though we are literally only 9 months apart. I don't have any brothers in real life so it really feels nice to call someone my brother for once. I really am glad that I have your dumb dumb self in my life because you're a really great listener. Please, I don't know how many times I've vented/ranted to you in voicenotes, probably to the point where you are sick of hearing my voice LMAO, but each time you were just so friendly and understanding and I'll honestly forever be thankful towards you for it. I also find it hard to trust people easily, probably another surprise for some people, but with you - I just felt like I could tell you everything, just like siblings would - you know? and you are literally one of the people who I trust the most on KA. Oh I have to definitely mention our Discord calls with Lotte and Nida here too- please, the chaos- I am literally laughing my ass off right now writing this. I've had so many times where I've had a crappy, stressful today (like 99% of the human population) but doing calls with you guys just automatically brighten up my day. You swearing at people in your games, bullying me (or me bullying you) and just getting killed repeatedly in "Overwatch" are literally the highlights of mine and Lotte's day LMAO- I really miss doing discord calls with you guys and we definitely need to do one in the future. Oh and the drunk Rikomeo/Lotteliet duo- another highlight. I don't know why you two are just so hilarious and adorable when you're drunk- like I love how you would just be zoning out whenever we'd do video calls and just encourage Lotte to drink- I am wheezing. I swear- I didn't think I'd make so many close friends on Amino and I feel like a lot of people think our friendship was unlikely (especially in the beginning) but I am so glad we got close overtime because the gang have made so many good memories that I'll forever hold close to my heart. I hope that our friendship will last a long time and we'll get more episodes of drunk Riko being angy at people KAHSSH especially when playing video games- Anyway, I love you dumb ass and thank you for literally being the best older brother. Also, I'm still waiting for the day that the gang meets up because I promised I'd make you an authentic curry and buy you like 50 burgers- Hopefully, that time will come soon~
