( sel ) → way ched
hello welcome to this week’s rendition of sel crying over her favourite khh boys. this week, i will be talking about none other than way ched.
way ched is, unfortunately, a very overlooked person. you’d think that being under one of k-hip hop’s household name would earn my boy some clout but i also realise that his position makes it harder to gain it. unlike the more ‘traditional’ artists - so to say - way ched doesn’t sing or rap his own songs. he is actually a producer, making songs for others. he has his own albums, of course, but what he really does is the ‘behind the scenes’ work within them. and it’s no easy job, he’s out there making beats, writing songs, arranging them, etc. he literally does so much work and a lot of the time, i don’t even hear people appreciate him. truth be told, a lot of my favourite songs over the last two years wouldn’t have even existed without way ched and that’s why i want to give this man some love. he works hard and he deserves all of the praise.
if you hear a little ‘way ched, it’s your way’ at the beginning of a song, you just know that song is gonna be a masterpiece. no ifs of buts about it, i have never heard a bad way ched song. they do not exist. but let me briefly share some of my favourite songs by him. <<everything>>, <<going nuts>>, <<beer>> and <<h&m girl>>. they’re only a few way ched bops that i wanted to show you guys briefly, as i do hope to dive more into way ched’s music in the future!!

( jazzy ) → doyoung - fallin
i'm not usually the type to rec something so popular and from such a popular artist, i just really really really wanted to rant about this because DOYOUNG x FALLING IS JUST EVERYTHING?!&?@ :sob: :sob:
falling is absolutely one of my favorite songs and i've genuinely wanted to hear at least one nct member cover it AND THEY FINALLY DID?!?!& + doyoung of all people considering i think his voice fits the most (imo). i actually freaked TF out seeing the notif, no lie :sob: doyoung is widely praised for being such a gifted vocalist and it's covers like these that make it all the more apparent. he has this special ability to pour truckloads of emotions out into the listener's soul. maybe i'm exaggerating a bit :sleepy: but it's clear how hard he intended to pull on all our heartstrings. everything about this cover works beautifully off of one another. doyoung's powerful gorgeous vocals suits the heartbreaking piano accompaniment, which is then amplified by the minimalistic, somewhat barren, video. with nothing more than a fairly plain beige background, red subtitled lyrics, and doyoung with his microphone, it adds JUST the right amount of subtlety to add to the song's emotional effect. even the lighting itself aids in creating a saddening, intimate, and intense atmosphere as our eyes are completely drawn onto doyoung as he pours his words out
mv quality aside, i want to talk about doyoung himself. now we all know he has clear honey vocals and as one of the main vocals of nct, he's certainly regarded as one of the stronger vocalists of the group. this is him proving it !!! he's done a fair share of covers in the past, some being breathin and idontwannabeyouanymore for example. however, i think this one is my favorite. not only because it's one of my favorite songs, rather because of the loneliness and desperation he so accurately portrays as he stands alone to wallow out his feelings (well harry styles's feelings, but you get what i mean). however, i think this one is my favorite. not only because it's one of my favorite songs, rather because of the loneliness and desperation he so accurately portrays as he stands alone to wallow out his feelings (well harry styles's feelings, but you get what i mean). in conclusion: masterclass 🤩 :heartpulse: :gift_heart: :cupid: :heartbeat: :gift_heart:
i could continue ranting or you could just go listen/watch rn!!! even if you already have, do it again 🤥 could always use more views hehe

( toddy ) → beyond evil
not here but it doesn’t need to be because toddy is the best anyways

( jazzy ) → the boy next door
i've been hearing about this miniseries for AGES and how hilarious it is. so recently, i decided to watch it, seeing as it was incredibly short and i was in the mood for something a bit light, AND LET ME JUST SAY I DEF DON'T REGRET WATCHING THIS AT ALL :sob: :sob: :sob:

[ EPISODES : 15 | 6min ]
[ GENRE : comedy, friendship ]
✎ . . . two college next-door neighbors, park kyutae and sung gijae, continuously find themselves in hilarious awkward situations leading to their neighbors and their mutual friend, minah, to believe they are a gay couple :man:   :man: . . .
_____________________________
[ STORY ]
there isn't much story because of how short this is + it's a comedy. still, each episode was hilarious and somehow got funnier as the eps ed 🤣 it's seemingly episodic at first, but then eventually builds up and you can see their cute friendship grow. even the ending was great which i wasn't expecting ngl :00
. . . . .
[ ACTING ]
ofc in any comedy, the acting is undeniably one of the MOST important aspects. in order to sell such bizarre occurrences as being plausible, the actors need to be comedically skilled enough to pull these scenes off. our two leads, [choi wooshik] and [jang kiyong] are FANTASTIC leads. i don't see them in comedic works too often, but when they are, they're so incredibly natural about it. i'm not a very big comedy fan (at all) because i usually tend to find myself forcing myself to laugh by the end. yet they had me genuinely laughing from start to finish :sob: :sob: :heartbeat: :revolving_hearts: THE MUSICAL?'&@?&( i fr nearly peed myself watching this at some scenes istg. as for the side characters, they were alright. they didn't have much screen time so it's harder to judge, though they still did well enough to not detract from the experience.
. . . . .
[ OST ]
short section: the ost is REALLY good. it was less of an "ost" and more random songs, but i constantly had shazam out tbh. my personal fave song was "mood indigo" by cheeze
_____________________________
overall, it's SUCH an incredible short comedic miniseries. if you're in the mood for a light laugh (or maybe you're a wooshik/kiyong fan), i HIGHLY recommend you checking this out. it only takes about 1 1/2 hours to finish 🤩 also to you non-bl fans, don't worry because it's NOT a bl, nor really has any romance. to you bl fans (lmao), you get some scenes ig???
i don't recommend if you hate to laugh 🤥 or obviously if you're anti one of the actors, but that's just messed up man :sleepy:
[ MY RATING ] 8 / 10

( sel ) → bhoomi
it’s been a hot minute since i recommended a ka member in one of these blogs but i would like to recommend my fellow wrt member, bhoomi. why? because bhoomi is iconic, that’s why. honestly i thought i’d be better at starting this off than i actually am. why did i think that is a complete mystery. but i think it would be best to describe all of the reasons i think bhoomi is a great friend and person to just be around or follow on ka :v:
number 1: humour. like, listen, bhoomi is really funny. maybe it’s because we both have/had to live through the british school experience which is usually a soul crushing mess filled with chavs and questionable teachers and so much of what bhoomi says is things i have been through as well and it’s like?? hilarious to see someone i can relate to despite our age difference. can easily say that bhoomi is one of my funniest friends across the board.
number 2: a great writer. i mean, i got to know bhoomi through the birthday committee and then we talked more through wrt. now, these are both writing teams and guess what: bhoomi’s sections for them are beautiful. i have not seen bhoomi write something that wasn’t super adorable and honestly if you don’t at least read bhoomi’s sections in our blogs then i don’t trust you, love <3
number 3: art queen. we’ve caught glimpses of bhoomi’s art in wrt and it’s literally gorgeous... bhoomi i know you’ll read this eventually show us more we are starving (okay but only if you’re comfortable. ily)
number 4: iconic nctzen / superm stan. my knowledge of nct and superm is not that wide but thanks to bhoomi i am not completely clueless 🥰 okay but seriously if you are a fan of either of those groups and you are not following bhoomi you are missing out on a lot of content!! queen always comes through with updates and other blogs about them.
number 5: she is literally one of the cutest people in existence. it’s just fact, no further proof needed.
but seriously, if you’re reading this bhoomi just know that ily a lot. you’re really great and i really appreciate you 🥺 :heartpulse:

( victoria ) → weeekly - after school
weeekly is a girl group i sadly did not pay any attention to until they released their newest title track called after school. i am so happy that i have found a rookie girl group that interests me and i hope to be able to stan them in the future. what i will be discussing right now is the showcase they did on m countdown. this stage begins with a dance introduction which sets the tone of the things that will follow. monday, soeun and soojin really seduce me with their charismatic facial expressions and cool but sassy attitude. the girls dance so incredibly well, they are perfectly synchronized and move so effortlessly swift. the actual performance of the song starts off with a playful game of musical chairs and jaehee riding a skateboard. jaehee's cuteness is unbelievable and she is so charming when she is singing her lines.
in contrast to the dance in the beginning, soojin warms my heart with her beautiful smile. i love how all the put so much effort into their acting. i feel like watching a piece of musical theatre. jiyoon's vocals are so pleasant to listen to and the faces she makes are so adorable. then the first chorus hits in which monday shines brightly like a diamond. her singing is so splendid and her deep vocal tone stands out in the best way possible. the hiphop and pop culture inspired dance moves bring me much enjoyment. jihan's high notes make me feel so fluffy on the inside and her grin from ear to ear is the embodiment of happiness. jiyoon's rapping part is what i could watch for the entirety of my life, it is full of swagger, but so enjoyable as well. monday riding on the skateboard and winking in an attractive way leaves me awestruck. her charisma level is so high that i literally cannot take both of my eyes of her.
zoa's rap part is so catchy and i adore her vocal color so much. the heart signs weeekly make with their fingers make me feel loved and i think i have fallen head over heels for these girls. their interactions and the scenes they act out are so heartwarming to look at and put a beam on my face. in the second chorus the push monday who is seated on a rolling chair. the use of props in this performance is just amazing and adds a lot to the atmosphere and mood of it. soeun and zoa are the outstanding features during the second half. soeun's gaze filled with sparkling fire and crystal clear notes attract me like a magnet. zoa's charming wink and bright white smile bring me pure joyfulness. in the pre-chorus, i enjoy and get absorbed in monday's, soojin's and soeun's mind-blowing stage presence.
at the end, they take a picture together and then the ending fairies close it off in an utterly positive way. this performance is so dazzling and fills my brain with content thoughts and my heart with cheery feelings. i am in love with the outfits that were picked for the girls as they match so well with their personalities and fit sublimely with the vibe of the track. the neon and bright colors in the background and in their laid-back but vintage looking clothing reflect that the song talks about school and how the melodies can bring me a boost of spry energy. the weeekly truly radiate a sense of enthusiasm and bubbliness that can motivate me and help me to feel energized. i really recommend this stage to people who are in need of an endearing girl crush concept that will make you feel high-spirited and will make you want to dance.

( victoria ) → ciipher - i like you
today i will be talking about a newfound favorite of mine; the freshly debuted boy group from rain's company, ciipher! they just released their first album with the title track i like you and i would like to talk about their stage on m countdown in this wrt issue. the stage starts with dohwan's introduction. his warm smile and gestures are really affectionate and show that this song is a sweet confession of love. the dance break in the beginning is very nice and brings me the utmost of joy. their youthful and bright energy genuinely makes me feel happier. their fast arm and hand movements especially catch my attention during this performance. another thing that i love about it are the different formations, how they switch from standing in rows to lines, squares and triangles. tag's confidence and the way he moves so energetically while rapping really impresses and entertains me. his sense of melody is astonishing.
hwi and won are so seamlessly adorable and their cute faces brighten my mood instantly. during the second chorus my eyes gravitate towards tan since his dancing is so good and his charisma is on point, optimistic and assured at the same time. i adore keita's rapping part because he looks so gleamingly, straight into the camera while showing his dancing skills very well. tan shows his maturity and effortless appeal with his beguiling vocals. hyunbin makes me feel so soft by singing in such a lovely way and conceying his princely charms. dohwan's beaming face is the epitome of liveliness and brilliance. i really like how during the last chorus everyone gets a bit of screentime to get a moment to shine. the ending fairies: hyunbin, keita and won really steal the show and end the song perfectly. hyunbin with his heart signs, keita with his peace signs and won with his eye smile.
this is such an amazing debut stage! the live vocals and rapping are solid and stable. the dancing is so pleasant to look at and sends forth this message of self-love. the mint outfits and colorful background with lights make the stage even more fresh. the song is a fun piece of pop with slight hints of hiphop mixed into it. i would recommend everyone to watch this performance to find a new rookie boy group to stan and to light up a gloomy day.

this concludes week 84 of wrt! if
you made it till the end just know
you have the biggest brain 🥰
