so... is it really important to have a boyfriend? i wanna know ;-;
I'm still not sure about that 🤷 people are only talking about styles? :confused:
As editors, we are artists in our own unique way. We are different, we see things differently, the way we create, the way we merge, the way we explore and combine color schemes we do and do not favor are all diverse. Having an editing style----
Would be your signature style. It's important. It's a chance for the editor themselves to make a name for themselves in kpop editing or any editing involving what they love/adore. Their "style" would let others community- people, whoever comes across it be able to easily discern that what they see is their framework.
Granted, some styles come from seeing others' ideas and combining it with what we've learned throughout each respective journeys, but the execution in which that editor did into merging that specific style into their own, /their inspiration of sorts/ is from their own creativty and doing of how, which, and what of that style they like so much would go on their own developing one.
It allows the editor to commit to one part or several parts of that style into their own, sometimes they'll change it after days, months, maybe even years of using it again and again- probably even combine it with an idea that fabricated from their focus and discipline in that nature involved.
We simply see a style we like-- try to mimic it, and throughout the whole minutes- hours- of trying to edit like it- we gain ideas along the way and produce a style that's made at random and inconsistent. Which is fine because whether the artist decides to take on that type of style into their editing depends on them entirely.
There are many, so many editing styles out there, and as an editor to another, I'd like to say that yes, having an editing style is important, however, do not rush in creating your own.
It takes time, it doesn't matter if it takes months, years, decades, you're trying to learn and express art through editing by what you've learned throughout your journey. You're commiting into so many editing styles that might or might not work on your own- it takes time to learn these elements and frankly,
Taking short trips into exploring those different editing areas is helping you as an editor develop your style. You may not know what your editing style is, but with all the experience and refinement of constantly practicing and changing tack as an experiment, you'll get there.
So yes, having an editing style is important, but do not rush and try to find your own.
Take your time, y'all.
Whoever managed to read through the end and see this, I. Kudos to you, and you have my utmost gratitude for taking the time to read this.. much, kdjd.
Also this blog is sooo pretty
Thank you!! :weary: :purple_heart:
Personally, I agree that an artist in general is recognised for their style. But It kind of limits you from trying new and different things. I say that I don't have a style because I keep experimenting and not sticking with something and I'd like to keep it that way. However when you're exploring styles and get inspired by someone it's important to only get inspired and not plagiarise them if you get what I'm saying. Hence I think that a style doesn't matter or it isn't important for someone to have a style and should just enjoy. It's up to them if they want to be consistent or experimental.
This is just my opinion and I have no idea what I just said (:
This is a lot coming from someone who doesn't have a stable style(aka me)
But back to the point I do believe that it is important to some extent to have you own style. Your style is constantly changing within the trends of the community therefore that part makes it less important. There is no possible way you can make every edit have the same exact style unless your skills aren't improving as your making them. Stable styles can also be a burden. For example you could have someone who is especially good at editing and everyone acknowledges that and there for if you change styles it could be a burden. Not sure how to word this but it's important to have style, but just don't get to caught up in that one style that your edits don't have variety.
