The only thing keeping the Elite Four from attempting to rip Hatake to shreds was the fact the moment they tried Satsuki had called them off. Satsuki herself was quietly letting Hatake help her with her wounds, thinking on her....pride. Hatake had done the so called courtesy of cutting it in half. She watched him carefully. He was ready to kill her before, yet when Matoi yelled out to him he froze. There was something more to Shotaro than she itted before.
His eyes, she noticed, had looked different not only in color but in the way the looked at her. The eyes of the man before was that of a reserved and caring man. The ones she had saw were that of a man lost in bloodlust. Perhaps there was indeed truth behind his story she had heard before.
"You Four. I ask you leave us be." She said, looking at her allies.
Each one of them hesitated but saluted and went about their business. Satsuki's eyes fell onto that of Matoi. Her eyes had changed as well. A certain spark had entered them. Not one driven by anger, but hope. A form of drive Satsuki herself had not seen since...She quickly gathered herself. She knew her mission. She was proud and rightfully so, but if anyone deserved her humbleness, it was Shotaro. He had proven that much.
"Shotaro. I believe we have sat in silence for long enough. What is it you need to speak to me about?"
Hatake finished his remaining work on her wounds and sighed. He stood and ran his hands through his hair. This info was alot to unload. And where to start? The stress was begining to show on his face. Ryuko walked up to him quietly, taking one of his hands into her own.
"It's gonna be ok." She said softly, so that only he would hear.
Hatake was taken aback slightly, flinching at her touch. He smiled softly and took in a deep breath. Then he turned.
"I'll start from the begining. Firstly, the multiverse theory is true." He stated.
Satsuki nodded. She had heard Inumuta discuss the possibility.
"Recently one of my dopplegangers approached me and told me of the demise of his own universe. In his own, you were his Fiancé."
Satsuki looked surprised by this. She never thought she would have feelings for Hatake. Ryuko scoffed slightly.
"Another version of myself, one who became corrupted has begun taking over other universes. Our timeline is his next target. I was asked to get help from both of you." He said, looking at Ryuko.
Ryuko nodded as Satsuki thought it over. "I have no doubt my mother will attempt to win him over." She stated. With a sigh, she explained her true plan for the Academy, and it's purpose. Ryuko seemed shocked, while Hatake only nodded. It didn't surprise him.
"You have my full Shotaro." Satsuki said finally.
Hatake nodded and thanked her, leaving with Ryuko. Halfway to Mako's house, Hatake stopped, causing Ryuko to stop and look back at him when he stopped moving. Tears made the ground wet below him. He didn't want to go get the fortifications. To do so he had to go back to the root of all his trauma and pain.
He would have to return to the island.
