A Month in a Day + 10,000 Followers!

Hello, hello, Kingdom Hearts Amino!

Wow, 10,000 followers. I know that most people are just automatically following cause of the entry thing, but it’s still shocking that so many people have either way.

But in celebration of that, I asked you guys what I should do for it, and these are the results:

A tie? I was not expecting that.

I was expecting either the fanfic or challenge to win, but not the 30 day one. So this is gonna be interesting. But you, the followers, have decided, so who am I to argue otherwise? To make up for the tie, I have decided... to do both! So technically this is a part 1. That said, let’s get started!

For those who don’t know, the 30 Day Challenge is a challenge made by Joo, the creator of this Amino, to help newcomers introduce themselves and get into being more active. I myself never did this, so I thought it’d be fun to do it finally after over 2 years, especially with the recent release of Re:Mind. However, I don’t think I exactly need to worry about being active (with an almost a year long daily streak), so I thought I couldn’t do them all in one day, as the poll says. What are the days? Well... here they are!

Lots of fun topics, huh? Let’s hop right into the first one!

Day 1: Favorite Kingdom Hearts Game

KH2 Final Mix, definitely. Re:Mind put KH3 really close though. So that might change depending on how I see it in the future. But for now, KH2FM reigns supreme. This game is an absolute blast for me, even the original. Amazing gameplay, I absolutely loved the Reaction Commands and how they were implemented. Forms were a blast to use (though they are by far better in KH3), and the basic gameplay is smooth and fast-paced (which, again, Re:Mind definitely improved that in KH3). The music was top notch and the worlds were really cool to visit. The story was pretty good (KH1 definitely does it best, it’s so simple and clean), but I overlook that. The Sephiroth fight was enjoyable even if it wasn’t that difficult, and skateboard was always a blast. Spent at least an hour overall just messing around in Twilight Town.

But let’s not forget what the Final Mix version added! Limit Form (dodge roll is a blessing), new abilities, brand new and really cool cutscenes leading into BBS, even new enemies and challenges to do. I loved the puzzles, those were fun to go back and see if I’d leveled up that skill I needed enough to get it, and then putting it all together was satisfying. The Cavern of Remembrance is by far my favorite area of the game, I loved the sense of progression you had as you worked on your Forms and it’s abilities. The music is amazing and the place in general was really cool to explore. And of course it led to the Garden of Assemblage, where you could fight all of the Org again at a much higher difficulty (Marluxia is super easy, change my mind). Then there’s Mushroom XIII. As infuriating as they were sometimes, getting that Keyblade was worth it for Final Form. And let’s not forget the grand finale of it all, Lingering Will! An insanely difficult fight, even after all of the other releases that have came out, and it even so happens to be the armor of my favorite character too! I love this game so much that I beat it 100% on Critical mode, which was a fun time with Lingering Will. Legends say my screech from beating him still echoes around the world to this day.

Day 2: Least Favorite Kingdom Hearts Game

Honestly, I don’t really have a least favorite. I’ve never played 358/2 or Coded so I don’t count the movies. I love Re:CoM, as well as BBS, KH1, KH2 and KH3. I play KHUX on a daily basis as well. So I think my technical least favorite would be... DDD. Don’t get me wrong, I still love and enjoy it, as well as 0.2. It’s just that I haven’t put as much time and effort into it as I have the others. I’ve only done Standard difficultly, got all of the Portals (Secret and regular) and beat Julius and the Flick Rush game. So it’s my least favorite because of how little I put into it.

Day 3: Favorite Character

I already gave a hint to this one earlier, and if you know me then you should know this. I have a chat devoted to him after all. That’s right. The one, the only, the best boi... Terra! To be honest, my favorite used to be Sora. I don’t know how though (I blame Chaos), but eventually my love shifted to dirt boi. Why do I love him? Well, I’ve already explained some reasons in this post here! But to summarize? I absolutely love his move set, it’s a ton of fun to use in BBS (really wish you got to play as Lingering Will in KH3). His outfit and hairstyle are really cool, I’d genuinely love to cosplay as him sometime. I feel like he’s one of the best developed characters in the game: from his beginnings in BBS to how he is in KH3. He had a clean, clear chance to unleash his rage on Xehanort and get vengeance. But he doesn’t. Even Aqua almost stops him from going forward. But you can tell that he’s calm. He’s grown, he’s changed and he’s learned from the past. No longer does he let his emotions control him. But anyways, rant over. A couple of my other favorites are Demyx and MoM, mostly for their personality and humor. Demyx is 100% a mood as well.

Let’s not forget that I have the foundation for a Terra shrine as well as over 300 images of him.

However! I do have a favorite female character that I don’t mention nearly as much as Terra. My waifu: Naminé! I’ve honestly got a weakness for sweet girls like her and Olette. And I’ve got a thing for blondes too. But besides her looks and sweet personality, she goes through a lot in the games. Not as much as Aqua, but still up there. Forced to mess with an innocent person’s memories so she wouldn’t suffer from the loneliness for the rest of her life (#DontBlameNaminé). She’s told multiple times by DiZ that she isn’t even meant to exist, all the bonds and interactions with her were completely forgotten by Sora. She believes that everyone doesn’t want her, they want Kairi. She’s only a Nobody after all, why would they want her? So basically her story hits me in my heart as well and I will protect her for life.

Day 4: Least Favorite Character

Like the games, I don’t really have a character I ionately hate. However, one that I definitely don’t really like is everyone’s favorite, Ansem the Wise. The way he treats Roxas, Naminé and Xion, as well as how he uses Riku simply to enact revenge. Sure, he tries to make up for what he did and shows that he really is sorry. But until he actually apologizes, I’m not giving him the time of day.

Day 5: Favorite World

Ohhh boy, I never really gave this one much thought before. It doesn’t help that there’s so many great worlds. Traverse Town, Twilight Town, Hallow Bastion/Radiant Garden (mostly the original worlds), etc. So to make things easier on myself, I’ll just do my favorite from each game (Except 0.2, it’s basically just one giant world)! For KH1, it’s definitely Hallow Bastion. The events here are some of the most iconic in the entire series. The music is serious quality, and the bosses are intense. Did I mention the bosses? Cause let’s not forget how Unknown is there. Re:CoM? Floor 13, aka Castle Oblivion. The design, music, all of it. KH2 is definitely The World That Never Was. The music really hit me when I first got there, and I couldn’t help but take a moment just to take it all in. I love the layout, especially the area with portals to the Organization’s “rooms”. BBS it’s definitely Radiant Garden (not surprising). DDD it’s probably La Citè de Cloches honestly. But Symphony of Mastery is a close second. KHUX it’s definitely Daybreak Town, especially the music for that world. And for KH3? Twilight Town I wish they added more to it, but it’s gotta be either the Toybox or The Carribean. I really enjoyed the story for Toybox and controlling the Gigas, as well as the whole Verum Rex thing going on. And The Carribean actually handles the underwater combat really well compared to KH1, plus the ships were really fun to use.

Day 6: Least Favorite World.

KH1 Atlantica and Arendelle. ‘Nough said.

Day 7: Character I Identify With The Most

As I said earlier, Demyx is 100% a mood. Love of music (even if I don’t play anything myself, though I was in band for a good 4 years. Go percussion.), wanting to take it easy and chill, hating fights and wanting to avoid confrontations, even just the goofy and light hearted personality he has. But of course there’s also the Sora in me, so says the KHA’s Sora. Always looking out for friends, trying to do my best to help out, always doing my best to smile and stay positive, things even fly right over my head sometimes and I won’t get it at all. And I have a mess of hair irl on top of it.

Day 8: Character I Least Identify With

This one I’m not entirely sure with. Larxene with her bitch queen attitude, I’ve got her sarcastic humor. Xehanort? I get pretty philosophical at times like he does at the end of KH3 and during BBS. Honestly it would probe Young Xehanort (before Chessnort). He’s just unnecessarily rude as heck, and he does his best to really get under your skin which I absolutely hate.

Day 9: Favorite Soundtrack Piece

It’s hard enough picking a favorite world theme and boss theme, but you want me to pick my favorite overall? Oh god

I don’t know if I can genuinely pick one. KH is just so filled with insanely good music that it’s hard to pick any. Boss Theme? Darkness of the Unknown, for sure. World Theme? Either Daybreak Town or KH2’s The World That Never Was. Emotional music? Either Tears of Light or Friends in my Heart (there was a really good piece in Re:Mind that I heard but I don’t know what it’s called and haven’t found it on YouTube). Character Theme? Terra’s, with Vanitas’ right behind. So... I choose all of these.

Day 10: Most Difficult Boss

Honestly, with the Secret Boss in Re:Mind, Lingering Will definitely has a run for his money. But I think they’re equal. Lingering Will is definitely slower, but his moves have a lot more variety to them. Plus you don’t have any Kup Coins (obviously) so it was a lot more risky either way. With [redacted], they have less moves but definitely strike harder and are a lot meaner (but at least he doesn’t have a move that basically means death or screws up your menu like Lingering Will), so I think they’re equal because of that. I don’t much of me going against Mysterious Figure so there’s that.

Day 11: Easiest Boss

At this point I think it’s unanimous that Darkside is the easiest KH boss out there (except the orb one in 0.2, that definitely had some difficulty to it if you weren’t careful). Easy to read, big and slow, great for the tutorial.

Day 12: Favorite Keyblade

Yet another really hard one to decide, as there’s so many really cool ones in KH. No Name, Fenrir, Royal Radiance, and of course the dynamic duo Oathkeeper and Oblivion. Not to mention the Ultima Keyblades. But I think that my favorite is... all of the above. It’s just too hard not to pick one.

Day 13: Favorite Drive Form

Obviously this means in KH2, before form changes were a thing in KH3. For KH2? How could I not pick Final Form? Powerful, flashy and incredibly helpful. As for KH3? I think with the free DLC, Oathkeeper/Oblivion’s Double Form is my favorite.

Day 14: Characters I Ship The Most

Aight, I’m bout to trigger some people no matter what I say. Some of my more favorite ships are Namirra, Leaïsa (go Sea Salt Family), Terraqua and Soriku. But I can’t deny that my all time favorite is... Goulder (Goofy x Boulder). It’s just... their fateful encounter, the impact that shook them to their core. Boulder really rocked Goofy’s world that day, and I can’t help but find myself cheering them on. Say what you will but they are OTP.

Nah it’s Terraqua, mostly because of my waifu Aka confessing by saying I was the Terra to her Aqua.

Day 15: Favorite Friendship Trio

Nomura and his Trios, I swear. Destiny, Wayfinder, Sea Salt, Twilight, Disney, Trinity, Forgotten, etc. But obviously only one can reign in my heart, and that is, as you probably guessed, the Wayfinder Trio! Favorite ship and favorite character, as well as Ven making some interesting development in KHUX. Plus the tragic tale that these three went through in BBS and the fates that awaited them, but finally having a tearful reunion in KH3.

Day 16: New World I Wish To See In KH

There’s a lot of really cool worlds that could be made in KH. But I personally have never taken the time to sit down and say “y’know, what if that was in KH?”. So this is kinda eh to me. However, I would be really interested in seeing how they’d manage something like Cars, but Inside Out would probably be a ton of fun.

Day 17: Saddest Moment

I think we can all agree that our favorite characters getting consumed by a literal tornado of heart devouring monsters is considered an all time high for the series, right? Especially with the happy-go-lucky protagonist breaking down right then and there. But that’s not what I’m choosing. When I think sad moments in KH, I think to Xion’s death, as well as Eraqus. But namely, I flash to two specific scenes in KH1: When Riku takes the Keyblade from Sora, and when Sora sacrifices himself to save Kairi. These scenes have always hit me hard ever since I first witnessed them as a kid, and they still bring tears to my eyes. The music with Sora’s sacrifice doesn’t make it any easier.

Day 18: Happiest Moment

Honestly? Hands down when Terra was freed from Xehanort’s grasp and was finally reunited with his friends. I think by this point you know why though.

Day 19: Favorite Heartless

I’ve yet to really look at a Heartless and react with “woah, that looks freaking awesome” except for the Neoshadows and Invisibles. However, I’ve really enjoyed some of the fights with them. The Dark Thorn from KH2, Opposite Armor from KH1, and let’s not forget the ice wolf from Arendelle (arguably the only good part of that world, besides from when you rebuild Olaf. That had me laughing). But I think my favorite overall is the Dark Hide from the BBS Secret Episode. It was a really cool fight in a really cool world and I absolutely loved the boss music for it. I mean, it had rainbow attacks! Ish.

Day 20: Favorite Opening

Honestly, I think it has to go to KH3. Favorite opening song is Simple and Clean. But the amazing graphics, the way they basically retold most of the previous games, even Face My Fears made it really epic to watch and experience.

Day 21: Favorite FF Character in KH

I’m not entirely sure about this, but I’ve boiled it down to Cloud, Leon and Sephiroth. It would be the big strong men with even bigger swords. I really enjoy seeing how Cloud and Leon keep clashing in each game (or at least 1 and 2. 3 let us down big time there), and Leon has been there for us since basically the beginning of our adventure in Traverse Town for KH1. Plus their Dissidia medals are godly in KHUX, especially Sephiroth.

Day 22: Favorite Item

Elixir. What do I even need to say about it? It’s a godsend from the heavens.

Day 23: Favorite Magic Attack.

I’m guessing this means that moves besides the basic Firaga and Blizzaga are okay as long as they are Magic. I seem to lean towards Raging Storm and Firaga Burst from Re:CoM. Big, flashy, powerful and capable of clearing whole rooms.

Day 24: Favorite Disney Character in KH

Can’t say I feel a whole lot of love to the Disney side of KH. HOWEVER, because of one particular on here (you know who you are *cOUGH PERCY COUGH* :eyes: ), I’ve grown a much stronger love for Donald and Goofy, especially with their relationship with each other and Sora. It’s very uwu wholesome uwu

Day 25: Favorite Quote

KH is filled with so many good quotes, some of which slide right under our noses the first time we hear them. And as a KH fanatic, I love pulling out those quotes whenever the opportunity arises, even if no one understands it. But I think my personal favorite is from Axel in KH2. “If you have a dream, don’t wait. Act. One of life’s little rules, got it memorized?”. It is an honest rule though. Don’t wait for your dreams to happen, jUST DO IT!

Day 26: Most Shocking Plot Twist

There’s honestly been a lot of times in KH where I went “hold up”. The aforementioned KH1 scenes, in KH2FM with Xemnas greeting Aqua’s armor (mostly cause I didn’t really know about BBS then), definitely the Luxu thing as well. But I think the one that really got my jaw to drop (at least, in memory) was the ending you get when you lose against the Secret Boss in Re:Mind. If you’ve seen it, you know what I mean. If not, I’m not saying anything else.

Day 27:Most Difficult Side Quest

KH doesn’t really have any side quests, so... optional missions? I think for me it’d be Mushroom XIII in KH2FM. Some of them just... UGGHHH. The one by Yen Sid’s tower especially. That one was just flat out infuriating, as well as the one by the Twilight Town mansion. So many times I’ve had to do those.

Day 28: Most Exciting Battle

Cutscenes make a huge impact in hyping you up for a fight. And the ones leading up to the 1,000 Heartless Battle in KH2 does this wonderfully. Running through the chasms, fighting with Leon, Yuffie, Cloud, even Tifa. Reuniting with Mickey, Donald and Goofy, then charging forward with an entire world at stake. I absolutely love this fight, even if your power is pretty limited since you’re by yourself. The music is also intense and absolutely perfect for this battle.

Day 29: Favorite Art Cover

KH3, without a doubt. Ever since I first saw it I fell in love with it, especially with the background. By the gods, the background! I love this art so much that I even got a shirt of it that I snagged from Hot Topic. Totally worth it :ok_hand:

Day 30: Other Video Game Crossover I would Love To See in KH

Last but not least! Two specific games pop into my head when I think about this: Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Two of my absolute favorite games for the Switch, and BotW being my all time favorite game. I have no clue how it would work, but I’d be fanboying the entire time. I even made a Keyblade not too long ago that has elements from those.
