I've seen a lot of aminos that have age restrictions to them. 12+, 13+, 15+, 18+, etc. Now, I'm not here to say you can't have that rule. I'm here to say this:

Why?
You need to be careful, because it is difficult to enforce this rule. To ensure every member complies with this, you might ask them their age, relying on the honor system; or some might even go as far as requiring proof of age, a drivers license, birth certificate, etc.
Why is this a big deal?
This is a big deal for one main reason: It is power abuse to require a member to give out their personal information -- including their exact age.
If a member openly says their age, or includes their age in their bio, then that's a different story.
How do I enforce this rule then?
That's quite simple! Hold polls that ask a member's age range! Each poll option could have options such as: Under 13, 13-15, 16-18, and 18+. I recommend including at LEAST 3 different ages for each poll (example: 13-15 includes 13, 14, and 15), that way, your won't feel too pressured.
Polls like this help keep you in the clear, while still allowing you to enforce your age rule. Just :
NEVER ask a member for their exact age.
They are not required to tell you, and they mistake you for someone who's asking for inappropriate things. Please, be careful.

I've done this more than once on my amino with great success. I'm sure in most roleplaying aminos we all get that one person, you know the one. The "C'mon guys, we're all adults here." Person.
Having stats on a poll that I can link them to is invaluable!
No, we're not all adults here, point in fact our Amino population is 70% minors at the last poll, so lay off the dirty flirty talk.
It's hard to argue with numbers.
Problem with this is, no amino should have under the age of 13. It's been stated multiple times, even in Team Aminos FAQ, that all amino apps are for 13+ only.
We can trust that most are over the age of 13 (or exactly 13) and dont ask for age. However, as you said, if they share their age as being under 13, they should get banned.
(The picture below is from the FAQ. It is also stated when you first sign up for amino you must be 13+ in the of Service (I think the too, but I'm not sure)).

Polling would be smart. Generally, the only times I ask is when I notice member's maturity is under what a 13 year old on Amino's generally is (picking fights, "that's not fair", "why are you asking what my name is on a curator application" <--- that one made me cringe personally) OR if they post a selfie and they look like a child. I use the honor system but if they post their age in a post or in their bio and they lied to me, then I get upset lol. But yeah, we have the age guideline listed in three different places, so if they didn't read it in the description, it's in the FAQs and Guidelines (which is just a general "welcome to our Amino! Please read our guidelines")
But yeah, I really like the polling idea...
The one "look like a child" kinda offended me because some people look younger than they are because I personally am VERY small for my age and I look about 10 years old even though i AM 13+ and so does the rest of my family. Some times my mum or my sis are denied access to places cos the people don't believe they are old enough and when I'm older I'll have to bring proof of age everywhere with me, even to go see a movie...
I'm not trying to pick a fight I'm just saying you need more proof of their age rather than just how they look.

Well that's what starts the conversation, if they explain that (or simply "I'm 13+, I just look younger") I use the honor system from there.
