• Forms of criticism

Complaints about your Community can be brought in various ways:

         • Direct

Some people may be direct and message a , stating that they don't like something, find something unreasonable or don't agree with something.

         • Public chat

Some may go complaining to other in a public chat, often to see what others think, find people with the same opinion or to stir up drama.

         • Post

A post is often with the same goal as complaints in a public chat, though posts stick around on the feed and may draw more attention.

         • Suggestion Box

Though rare, some people actually use the Suggestion Box, might a community have one. They'll comment with an idea for improvement or change.

• Talk about it

Regardless of whether you, as a , agree or not, it is important to stay open and strike up the conversation!

         • Direct

This is an easy one, since the member is most likely already in your dms. In the case of rude behavior, remind them to be respectful.

         • Public chat

Try to take the member into dms and explain to them that there are s to manage the community and that complaints can go to them. Public chats are not a place for those, as it may( even if unintended) stir up drama.

         • Post

First of all, you disable the post. Second of all, you let them know why it has been disabled and that the public space is not one for complaints.

         • Suggestion Box

This is an exception on the rule. This is a public space where people may actually place complaints, as the Suggestion Box is meant for improvement. Though, try to get the elaborate thing into dms.

• Reasonable or not

Regardless of whether or not you, as a , agree with the complaint, take then into dms. Strike up the conversation. Ask them where their complaint is coming from, why they have that opinion and what ideas they have to solve the "problem".

If their explanation and/or ideas are reasonable, you may want to consider gathering other 's opinion on the topic and actually make the change. After all, managing a community is also about keeping your satisfied.
