Downside Upside

Chapter 1: Alexander

When Alice and Jacob moved to Wonderland they had two children. Alexander (17) and Lucy (15).

Despite Alice’s best effort she could never nail logic into her children. Which was to be expected when your raised in Wonderland.

The two children had always been free of spirt. Like their mother they were curious creatures and always exploring new things.

Alexander and Alice didn’t get along despite what you would think. Of course Alice only wanted the best for her son. Stay safe, stay out of trouble and marry a nice girl. But this went against everything in Alexander. He was a curious adventurous boy, who was gay as well. His sister and best friend Harley Hatter daughter of the mad hatter were the only ones to know at the moment, though in Wonderland there were no heterosexual norms and you never knew what to expect with people.

Alexander was sarcastic and sassy to say the least. His blonde hair always seemed to make his wild blue eyes even more mad and mischievous looking.

Little did Alexander know, that today would be the start of his greatest adventure of all...

His day started out like any other. He had breakfast with the family fought with his mom a little and then he took his sister over to Harley’s for afternoon tea.

“Alex, Lucy, your late!” Harley scowled her hand me down top hat falling over just a bit. The two sat down anyway.

“So what’s the latest gossip Harley?” Lucy asked. (Lucy already knew of course. She was famous in knowing anything and everything in Wonderland. But she still liked making idle chatter and acting surprised at news.)

“Well I’ve been hearing rumors about kingdom of hearts.

Alexander perked up. He had never been to the kingdom of hearts before, he was forbidden from going anywhere near the place.

“The body count has risen this week. Apparently the queen and prince had another fight.” Harley stated, sipping her tea.

“How hard is it to get into the kingdom of hearts?” Alex blurted.

Harley eyed him suspiciously,

“Not that hard, they say though that once you have been at the top of the palace you’ve seen the entire kingdom.”

“Don’t get any ideas Alex, you know mom will flip. You two already fight enough as it is.” Lucy warned him.

“I know Lucy, don’t worry I won’t do anything stupid.”

Technically he wasn’t lying to his sister. He wasn’t going to do anything stupid. He had a plan of course.

That night he locked his door and snuck out the window. Running to the secret door of the kingdom of hearts.
