Hiya papaya, it’s your friendly neighborhood journalist curator Lotte, here with my part for this weeks #takeover, as you can see we are talking about the series Stranger Things and I’ll be talking about the character Dustin.

Season 1

Dustin is one of the main protagonists, being a 12 year old boy, who is friends with Mike, Lucas, Eleven, Max and Will. In the first season Dustin helps finding Will when he goes missing, but they find a mysterious girl called Eleven instead. He became friends with Eleven after she saved him and Mike from their school bullies. Dustin also fought against a Demogorgon until Eleven killed it and got reunited with Will again.

Season 2

Dustin played a major role in discovering and raising D’Artagnan, which was later discovered to be a juvenile demogorgon. After turning to Steve to deal with D’Artagnan he s forces with the rest of the gang to save Will and the rest of Hawkins. To help Eleven close the Gate for good, he assisted in burning the expanding network of the Mind Flayer as a distraction.

Season 3

Dustin intercepted a secret Russian transmission on his Cerebro, eventually leading him to discover that the Russians were in Hawkins to open another Gate underneath the Starcourt Mall. After he escaped the Russian base, Dustin reunited with his friends and helped them defeat the Mind Flayer again.

Facts

:bike: Dustin’s character got rewritten after Gaten Matarazzo was cast, he went from an overweight boy with glasses to a buoyant nerdy character who’d resolve internal conflicts among his friends

🧢 Gaten’s medical condition, cleidocranial dysplasia, was also written in the character.

:bike: Dustin is the only AV club member that does not have any siblings.

🧢 He owns a set of hockey gears, though it's not known if he actually plays it.

:bike: Dustin curses the most out of all the younger characters.

Dustin is very observant and protective especially to the unity within the friend group, being more of the negotiator between Mike and Lucas. He was also very level-headed in his approach to Eleven and the supernatural events that happened around him. Besides this he is also the most scientifically inclined of the group and maybe even the most intelligent of the group.
