Hey guys! It's been a while!

For those who might not know me, I'm Jo, and I've been in the journalist team for over a year, and I've been the journalist curator for more than half a year. I've left staff because of a hard situation, but now I'm more than just ready to come back, and I'm so so excited about it! So here I am, making a return and applying for my baby, the journalist team.

What is your name / preferred name, age and pronouns

My name is Joanie, but most people call me Jo or Jojo..and a variety of other nicknames that are available in my bio! I'm 17 years old, turning 18 in less than three months. Hell yeah. Pronouns are simply she/her.

Tell us a little bit about yourself

As a person, I'm a very caring one. I stand by those who matter to me, or by what I care about. I having debates on staff about what team was the best, and I always defended journalists, because it mattered a lot to me. I also highly prone justice! I really enjoy writing, since it allows me to develop my english skills. On my free time, I mostly write, draw or play music as I sing. I also adore arts, it's a ion of mine! That's why I always encouraged the chronic comic section

....

Except me to comment on your post if you do great art, to tell you about the chronic comic section...Jenny knows XD.

What is your age? You have to be 13 or older to Apply

As stated above, I'm 17 years old, almost 18.

What is your timezone

EST!

Stats

Here they are, I will mention that they are not high, since I'm not on staff anymore and don't do much on here anymore. But when I'm on staff, they go high since I talk a lot with people, work on chronicles or takeover posts, etc. And I think I am to be trusted on that, since I was always doing my parts, and even covered for others if needed. I loved to make post for journalists and I would love to get back on the track.

My two feature worthy posts

First one : Smart but lonely

This actually was featured. I think it is feature worthy because it's an informational post, but also talks about feelings. I feel like a lot of people could relate to that, and the fact that its mentioned in a post can help the community. I think that some things need to be said, which is why I did this one. Now, there was a fuck up with the pictures for some reason, I don't know why, but note that each section is separated and all. I really don't know why it did what it did. XD

Second post : Perfect.

Okay, this one was also featured, so I think I can say it was feature worthy. I think what makes this post feature worthy, is that the poem is well written and flows very well. The aesthetics are also very simple, but it gives full place to the words, which are the main part of the post. The poem is also well structured.

Give 2 ideas for the Chronicles post

1st idea : College/university tips

Basically this part would be about tips that could be given to college and university students. It could be with how to manage your study time, but also with what food to buy on a low budget, how to organize yourself. Just tips to make the student life easier! This could be really interesting, since there is a lot of students on here. It could also be funny tips, to make people laugh, and make them smile as they read the chronicles to relief them from stress or negativity.

2nd idea : Motivational quotes

I feel like this would be good, since the part would just contain some motivational quotes, with a small explanation from the person who's in charge to write this. Mid are coming soon, and in such a stressful time, it's great to feel motivated. Maybe that part could help people to feel better, and motivated with their studies. Good luck with your exams guys by the way!

Give 1 idea for takeover

Takeover theme : Moodboards

Basically, an idea I have for takeover that was never done before, would be a Moodboard takeover. Now, you're probably wondering what I have in mind, right? Well, the main topic would be about "how to make a moodboard" so it encourages people to do some, by explaining what they are and with a guide on how to do them, along with tips to make the best one. The other posts would be moodboard posts about certain subjects. The journalist will be able to explain what this moodboard represents to them, the interpretation of it, why they chose certain colors, images, etc. This would be quite different, but also interesting.

7 topics in link with the theme :

1. How to make a moodboard (main)

2. LGBT+ moodboard

3. Calm moodboard

4. Animals moodboard

5. Nature moodboard

6. Positive moodboard

7. Music moodboard

Please describe what you think makes a good newsletter

In my opinion, a good newsletter must include some actuality facts, things that are currently happening in the world. A newsletter is made to inform the society about certain situations, in first place! I also think it should contain sections to entertain the community, since some people read it for fun.

The newsletter should also be aesthetically please. This would make the want to read it. I also liked the fact that before, we always included a quote at the beginning of the chronicles, I just found it interesting! It would be important to include a table of contents, so the readers are aware of what sections are going to be in the newsletter, and in what order.

Most importantly, why do you want to become a Journalist, what do you think you have to offer to the team?

First of all, I want to become a journalist because I've been one for a long long time. Along with Jenny, I was the oldest journalist on the team. Leaving it was a hard decision, and it broke my heart. This team meant, and still means the world to me. I just really love to write, and do aesthetics. I like to bring good content for the in here. Writing has always been a ion, and I'd love to continue doing it.

Lastly, I think I could offer a lot of positivity to the team, with my vibrant energy and my bubbly mind. I also know that I always have a ton of ideas, crazy or not, and I could bring some that nobody thought before. The fact that I'm an old journalist will also make me add experience to the team.

1)

What would you do if you saw another member of your team plagiarizing work?

I would start off by reverse search their work, to make sure that my concerns are based on something real. I would then screenshot the proofs, along with the post and I would message the leader of my team about it. I don't think I should be the one to personally deal with that directly with the member of my team, so the best thing to do is to message the leader, or curator.

2)

What would you do if you received negative comments from an idea that you had suggested to the team?

I would not do much about it. The best thing to do would just to let it go, and not let it get to me. I'll probably have better ideas another time! If it's a personal attack though, I would message the leader about the situation. Other than that, constructive criticism is always very appreciated!

3)

What would you do if you got negative lashback from a takeover you had made?

Yet again, if it's constructive criticism I would respond to it, and use it for improvement. If it's unnecessary negativity, I would simply ignore it, and show it to a curator or leader.

4)

How would you handle a post that could be potentially triggering?

I would start by adding a trigger warning at the top of my post in bold characters, so the are clearly aware that there will be triggering content. I would explain what the triggering content is. I usually make an intro in my posts, so it will explain what will be the content of the blog. If it's too triggering, it's better to just not put it.

5)

What are some qualities you would use to put into your posts to make them more interesting and appealing to the ?

I would make sure to work hard on the aesthetics, to make the post pleasing to the eye. I would also use good structure, headers and borders. All of this would make my post appealing and interesting. I will also include a table of contents, to make sure that the blog stays organized.
