Sometimes I forget how I drew something, as in like how I got to a certain thing, like rn I'm mostly thinking about the lips like what opacity and how much blur n stuff. I have like an idea of styles but I don't always have a set one, but it usually has alot of lines [thank you Tove Janssen :nail_care: ] I did the nature drawings first and then I was like shit wait I have to draw the character to FIT in those environments. I tried like a few different ways, I just would start drawing and then asked a friend if they thought they suited the bg. I did some and then I was like fuck it so I just put the background there and just went for it. Then it changed from there and I drew Darien, I think I'm going to use the slightly longer puffier hair for when he's younger. I tried to use different filters to see what colours he would have in different lighting's. He was og just pale and gray but I knew I wanted him a little more tanned than he was, he grew up in the city but I think he'd so get sun burnt cus he likes being outside.
I'm just going to stick to the style I drew them both and loved them, this with the weird eye thing going on, I really liked it and it worked well and suited them.
I wrote this weird so gonna sum it up, I og did the drawings of them a bit ago and the last of them I did I was gonna stick with. Recently I've gone back into those ocs and I wanted to see if I could change them a little using lineart and blending like when I drew Mercury but it didn't work out so I'm sticking to the weird eye drawings I did and redrew a recent sketch as that style :muscle:
When I say I tried different styles I don't mean that I COPIED other styles, I literally switch between how I draw like I said before, for now I've been doing alot of grayscale with blending and then the Mercury drawing happened and I wanted to draw Darien and Lee like that but they didn't really work with that so I stuck with how I og did em, I think those drawings of them are sort of what made me go into the blended grayscale things cus I did alot of weird shapes and blending on faces since then. Idk if I wanted to use lineart or minimum lineart but I figured it out in the end
