Phobia

I looked at the screen and I felt my body tense up

I tried to look away but it just wasn’t enough

I turned off the phone but the image still in my head

Following me from my chair to my bed

My body shuttered and my hands trembled

My knees felt like jelly, forward I stumbled

One quick breath, two, three, then four

Suddenly I’m hyperventilating on the floor

For a second I felt like I was away from myself

The sound of my voice sounding like an echo from below

I took a deep breath and gripped my shelf

It was only a picture, but the tears still flow

I don’t know what happened but I have an idea

It has something to do with a phobia.
