HELLO EVERYONE
So, not that long ago I made a post about insomnia.
And on that post this person commented underneath asking me to make one on somnambulism.
So that's what we're doing today!
Somnambulism which is better known as sleepwalking is when people walk around and perform tasks while they are asleep.
It's very common and usually self diagnosed
It usually occurs after one or two hours after falling asleep and it can show some unusual behavior that may be dangerous (such as trying to climb out of a window)
It happens more with children than with adults and it's usually caused by lack of sleep.

Treatment
Somnambulism is usually a harmless event but if it occurs very often and/or causes injuries, then treatment is needed.
The treatment for somnambulism can be in two ways. Through self care or with specialist.
When it comes to self care, the treatments are:
•Anticipatory awakening
(scheduling a time for someone to wake you up before it happens)
•Improved sleeping habits
(regular sleeping schedule and eight hours of sleep)
•Relaxation techniques
(meditation, yoga, exercise...)
When it comes to professional help, the treatments are:
•Sleep medicine
(make sure to speak with your doctor beforehand)
•Neurologist
(someone who deals with damages to the nervous system)
•Pediatrician
(a doctor for children and infants)

Just another helpful piece of advice. If you have stairs in your house, put a string of bells across the top and a sign directing you back to your room. It worked for me and my cousin.
Very good advice
