Waning Light
thither i stood—shining, still,
while all the ordinary wast void and chill.
high-lone i stoodeth, whither shadows hath grown,
a spark of gold in endless blue.
“where art the others?” i did dare to caterwauling,
but silence hath met me, thick and high.
t did smother light, t dull’d mine own flame,
and but soft did dim mine own fragile name.
each flicker cameth with stifl’d sobs,
each sob a holidam the dark hadst did rob.
“i shall shine again,” i swore—
but in the void, i did see once moo:
a distant flicker, weak and slight,
a soul like mine, half-lost to night.
i spake nay word, just satteth and did stay,
and hath reached f’r thee, though desire hadst did stray.
i did hold thy hand—no needeth to speak—
and gazed thee burn from faint to peak.
so bright thee did shine, t did blur mine own view—
and joy hath returned. I shine with thee.

Waning Light
There I stood—shining, still,
While all the world was void and chill.
Alone I stood, where shadows grew,
A spark of gold in endless blue.
“Where are the others?” I dared to cry,
But silence met me, thick and high.
It smothered light, it dulled my flame,
And slowly dimmed my fragile name.
Each flicker came with stifled sobs,
Each sob a vow the dark had robbed.
“I will shine again,” I swore—
But in the void, I saw once more:
A distant flicker, weak and slight,
A soul like mine, half-lost to night.
I spoke no word, just sat and stayed,
And reached for you, though hope had strayed.
I held your hand—no need to speak—
And watched you burn from faint to peak.
So bright you shone, it blurred my view—
And joy returned... I shine with you.
