On Saturday my mom, sister and I went to a giant indoor garage sale, and I ed that I HATE doing this sort of thing with them. When I go to sales like this, I like to take my time and look at everything, because there is often a LOT of stuff displayed. My mom and sister twnd to just wander around, looking only at the "new" stuff or jewelry. I don't really care about jewelry!
So I didn't buy anything. There were some things I thought were neat (including an itty bitty functioning typewriter with paper and it's own travel box), but couldn't stop for long enough to get anything.
On Saturday morning my aunt told us she was coming Sunday, and she wanted me to make her something. It took my mom until 6pm to finally drive me to the dollar store so I could get the supplies, and I stayed up until midnight making it.
My aunt and cousin came down on Sunday, and were like "actually we want this design instead, and we brought our own glasses!" So I. Redid it. (It did turn out better: the designs were smaller so there were less smudges off the vinyl.)
After they left, taking the glasses, a bear I made, and a mug, I experimented with dog toys. I'm trying to make one my dog won't easily destroy. I had crocheted a ball out of really soft yarn, but the yarn was too soft and she chewed right through it. This time I put a squeaker in a fake leather shape, then covered the shape in fleece.
The next one I'm working on is about 3ft of folded/rolled fleece, sewed together into a book shape. I put a squeaker at the center, so there are a few layers of fleece surrounding it. I'm also sewing strips of denim to it, to cover the fleece and hopefully make it more durable. ...I don't think it will work, though, the denim doesn't feel sturdy. It just feels like cotton.
And now, with 10 minutes before sleep, I'm gonna think about what to do at my meeting tomorrow night.
