Five Days Of Celebrating My Pride Ocs: Day 3

Hello everyone and welcome to day 3 of celebrating my pride ocs. Of course we will be doing day 5 slightly after pride but oh well. I'm very excited as today's day is dedicated to celebrating my animal crossing character who has allowed me to express myself in such a true and authentic way. This post will be split into three sections consisting of how I came up with the character, why I made them their identity and a section explaining their pride outfit.

How I Came Up With The Idea For The Character

I have rambled in the past about how much animal crossing breaking the gender binary a tad means to me but I still can't get over the fact that I'm now able to enjoy animal crossing with a genderless instead of being forced into a binary. Animal Crossing gave me the chance to freely express my gender without judgement so of course I decided to do some fanfics with my player character. Animal Crossing New Horizons was the first game in the franchise that allowed for me to have my character reflect myself in real life so of course I had to take the chance to do so.

Why I Made My AC Character A Panromantic Enby

I started playing animal crossing when new leaf was released and honestly hated the fact I couldn't have the character look like me. I was so uncomfortable infact I named my character Clara instead of my deadname. Since New Horizons has given me the confidence to be myself and experiment with my identity I vowed to reflect that in my character. So due to the unlimited amount of lgtbq+ custom designs I can do without censoring or having it being taken down I have designed alot of awesome stuff including the iconic Pride Anne Boleyn dress.

Explaining Mel's Pride Outfit

So Mel's pride outfit is based on one of my custom designs in the game. Unfortunately they don't have custom jumpsuits so it was a fem version so in order to fully show Mel's gender expression I decided to do an androgynous version but I may do them in the orginal design somebody. I of course had to add Pan and Ace accessories which look awesome. My favourite accessories are the pan hairclips. I'm not a good drawer but I'm very proud of how I've adapted my orginal design.

Conclusion

Despite the regression of rights we seem to be going through I'm very glad that I'm able to represent and express myself in media more. I really hope you guys are able to have that same experience yourself and are able to be empowered by creativity.
