PSA: Blocking staff

Hello,

This post will be short and straight to the subject of blocking staff in this amino.

Now I would firstly like to say that we are not going to stop you from blocking us if you feel it’s something you need to do. This post will just highlight some future problems you may have if you do block us so please do read this post.

I would like to also add that us (the staffers) do not block unless we have no other choice so would like you to consider that before blocking us.

What does it mean to block a staff member?

  This is different for curators and leaders.

   If you block a curator I believe they can still see  

   your activity however they cannot interact with  

   you. If you block a leader we can you via  

   DMs and still give you official warnings/ strikes

   regarding current situations.

  I would also like to add both curators and

   leaders will still be able to see your chats in

   public chats and see your posts along with

   comments.

How does blocking staff affect me?

Well in truth if you block us for a reason of not

  getting your way I can almost guarantee that we             

  won’t take situations seriously due to previous

  experience with you. Not only this but blocking us  

  and then unblocking us when you need our help  

  looks incredibly suspicious.

We as staff are here to protect and look after you

all while you use this community. By blocking us it  

  immediately says to us that you are a trouble

  maker, especially if someone on the team has   

  ed you either through post comments,

  public chats or DMs.

Why should you block us and why shouldn’t you block us?

   Let’s start with why you SHOULD block us.

    This is really self explanatory. If you feel

    threatened or bullied then please do block the

    appropriate staff member and report to a leader

    what happened with the necessary information

    that’s required for making a report. This should be

    done ASAP!

   Now moving on to why you SHOULDN’T

    block us.  

    Well as mentioned above it looks suspicious

    as in you are breaking the rules and don’t care

    for respecting people who work on for free to   

    protect the entire amino community. It also  

    suggests we have had previous with you

    and something either didn’t go your way or you

    didn’t like (from my personal experience).

What’s the take home message?

If you made this far then I believe you can tell what it is.

Only block us if you feel threatened, bullied or other related feelings/ behaviours from us then report to a leader asap.

We are certainly not here to make anyone uncomfortable but to protect you all while you enjoy this amino.

Please do think before blocking us. It makes our job 100x harder if staff cannot you regarding a situation.
