8 QUEER ANIMALS

Raise your hand if you have ever been told that being LGBT was a choice and that you can easily turn back? Yes, and its hecking frustrating when you know for a fact that you didnt choose the gay life and that the gay life chose you. However, for all those people who believe being LGBT is a result of "manipulation" by society shove these animals in their faces because nature just happens to pretty damn gay. There are indeed animals that arent very straight beyond humans, and im pretty sure that elephants didnt 'turn gay' from watching RuPaul's Drag Race.

Dolphins

in Glee when dolphins were referenced as "gay sharks"? Well apparently lots of male dolphins have been identified as bisexual. According to the University of Massachusetts, male dolphins conduct intense social relationships and engage in extensive bisexuality. Seriously, more than 120 bottlenose dolphins in Shark Bay, Western Australia have been discovered to have a more complex nature than previously thought. The co-authour of the study that was carried out this research, also stated that not only do dolphins engage in extensize bisexuality, but also periods of exlusive homosexuality. Furthermore, male dolphin pairs, and even trios, cooperate to sequester and herd individual females during the mating season. Many of these males dolphins mate for life, and at the ing away of a partner, they are known to go into long mourning periods and listen, my heart has never hurt more.

Penguins

Usually one of the more well known animals for having same-sex relationships, penguins are also known to mate for life. Gay couples can often adopt their own baby penguin, either by caring for abandoned penguins or actually kidnapping them from another couple. Homosexuality between penguins was discovered in 1911 but hidden from the public as it was 'too shocking' for the rest of the world to know. However the information was released over 100 years later in 2012, when two penguins in a same-sex relationship were given there own egg to raise by themselves.

Black Swans

It is estimated that one out of four swans are in gay couples. Similarly to penguins, same-sex black swans often steal nests from and eggs from the female so they can raise it. Equally, they sometimes form thruples (or threesomes) with the female in order to do this. They also may have relationships with other species of bird, as seen with two birds from New Zealand. Thomas the goose and Henry the swan. This couple spent a good 18 gay years together before Henry decided to leave Thomas for some female swan. Honestly, not cool Henry. After Thomas finally got over his heartbreak ( :( ) he ed the swan couple to make a thruple.

Lizards

Lizards are literally awsome, and they present their homosexuality in a rather...unique way. Certain species of whiptail lizards are exclusively female and are able to reproduce without the fertilization of a male. So in order to stimulate ovulation, they engage in homosexual behaviour. Geckos also show homosexuality in a non-reproductive manner.

Vultures

Sit down kids and get ready for a story. Back in 1998, two vultrues were reared two fledglings of their endangered species. The two males, known as Dashik and Yehuda built a nest and set up a home together, and in gay rebellion and liberty, openly and actively mated together but were unable to produce a single egg. So their zoo keepers provided them with an artificial egg which the the two birds looked after through incubation and once it was time to hatch, the zoo keepers replaced it with a baby vulture. They continued to raised this baby vulture until after some rocky years, Yehuda and Dashik split up, both moving on to female partners.

Clown Fish

Okay right, so you know in Nemo, that one scene where the mother and all the eggs die and my heart was torn to shreds when it hadnt even been like five minutes? Yeah that scene. Turns out that as clown fish, the father had the ability to permanantly turn into a female. I know that this is sort of a well known fact but I just thought it was kind of interesting and sort of cuteaswell.

Elephants

African and Asian elephants have been seen to engage in homosexual animal relationships, and males will engage in homosexual intercourse. Seriously, there are reports of affectionate same-sex interactions beyond mere sex. Elephants virtually hold hands by intertwining their trunks, groom and kiss. The same-sex companionships may last for several years and are apparent in both sexes.

Lions

And last but definately not least, the kings and queens of the jungle, Lions. Theere are a heck load of reports of gay lion pairings in the wild and males are more commonly observed engaging in intimate behaviour. Back in 2016, two male lions were spotted mating in Botswana safari park after ignoring a pregnant lioness. The photographer spotted the two male lions apparently trying to mate in the Lagoon area of Kwando in Botswana and furthermore a guide told Belgian lawyer Nicole Cambré that the lions had been displaying this behaviour for the last week. She even said pair had pushed out the resident males earlier in the year and that they showed no interest in the lioness.

Aquaman Comes Out

The DC Young Justice: Outsiders features a same-sex kiss between Aquaman and Wynnde. As Aquaman is the leader of his Superhero Team and Wynnde is the aid to King Orin of Atlantis, fans seemed to appreciate the reveal.

Judge Julianne Hough Comes Out

In the Women’s Health Magazine, the America’s Got Talent Judge Julianne Hough said she’s ‘not straight.’ When she came out to her husband, pro hockey player Brooks Laich, she said “I’m no [straight], but I choose to be with you.”

Message to All Parents Of Transgender Teens!

Charlize Theron has revealed that her child is trans-male. She shares the story of the struggle as not just a Transgender Teenager went through, yet also as a mother. ‘Ignorance is not benign’ is the main point, where the little knowledge of gender to parents is pointed out varies times.

Uzi Even, first openly gay person in Israel’s government

Uzi Even was the first openly gay person to serve in Israel’s Parliament. After he began serving, the government soon changed their laws to allow queer people to the military. The podcast with him explains the good and bad of being an openly gay in Israel.

Heavy Metal Band Kiss On Stage

Heavy Metal Band Paul Landers and Richard Kruspe had an on stage kiss during their live performance. This was in protest against Russia’s ‘gay propaganda’ law. This law, ed in 2013, bans the ‘promotion of homosexuality to minors.’

Elijah: Alrighty, I am Elijah. I’m a trans male, bisexual, and he/him is 200% preferred

CC: I am a girl, pansexual, my name is CC, and I go by she/her

2) Sᴏ, ᴡʜᴀᴛ ᴡᴀs ɪᴛ ʟɪᴋᴇ ғᴏʀ ʏᴏᴜ ʀᴇᴀʟɪsɪɴɢ ʏᴏᴜ'ʀᴇ LGBTQ+?

Marga: oh yeah, i’ve definitely always known, even before 1st grade. it was never a huge surprise

Elijah: Well I’ve always known something was off. When I realized what was going on I was happy to know that I wasn’t alone and I wasn’t the only one who felt this way. So it wasn’t really a shock I was just happy to not be confused.

CC: for me it was a bit of a surprise, I always likes girls I guess but because of my surroundings and society I didn’t realise my feelings until middle school.

3) Hᴏᴡ ᴅɪᴅ ʙᴇɪɴɢ LGBTQ+ ɪɴғʟᴜᴇɴᴄᴇ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴀʀᴛ ᴊᴏᴜʀɴᴇʏ?

Marga: i’ve always written about it, in short stories or poems. it’s a lot easier to express what it is to be lgbtq+ in writing rather then drawing for me

Elijah: I draw a lot, and it definitely has influenced my characters and being able to express myself through these characters. LGBTQ+ or not. I don’t openly express it all the time but almost all my characters are LGBTQ+ in some way, even if it’s subtle (:

CC: art has been a wonderful source throughout my experience, I love to express my sexuality and just the lgbt generally through my art!

4) Wʜᴀᴛ ᴀʀᴇ sᴏᴍᴇ LGBTQ+ ᴀʀᴛɪsᴛs ʏᴏᴜ ʟᴏᴏᴋ ᴜᴘ ᴛᴏ ᴏʀ ᴇɴᴊᴏʏ ᴛʜᴇɪʀ ᴡᴏʀᴋ?

Marga: i’m super into music and one of my favourite singers is lgbtq+! clairo is bi and she’s an amazing singer with a few songs (and more coming) representing her sexuality

Elijah: An artist that has influenced me personally is Julianmiholics

His art is absolutely amazing, and he is a gay trans man and I appreciate him so much. His art has a lot of LGBTQ+ influence, as one of his recent pieces was werewolf wives and it made my heart melt.

CC: well I love the artist twisted disaster on YouTube because of how straight forward and bold she is, and I also love the music artist queen or Freddie Mercury because I mean his music Wass amazing and he was so brave!

Marga: i use it for mostly all of those things, i’d love to influence people with my art and i also love to use it as an outlet for my emotions. there are endless things to do with it and i want to achieve just getting better for now

Elijah: Honestly it’s a hobby. I started doing it for fun and I wanted to share what I love with other people. Sometimes I use it to vent and other times I draw just to make myself feel happy. I doubt art will ever be my main job in life but that won’t stop me from doing it. :)

CC: I want to make a carieer out of my art, I love to draw so so much and I would love to be able to just live life and draw! I do sometimes vent because for me art is an outlet that I can express all my feelings too! But I would also love to be able to influence other people through my art, that would be amazing!
