While I was in the middle of creating actual design elements to add to my irl online portfolio, I ended up creating this. A small edit for a poster where a concert is to be held around orchestral music.

Poster Design

Though looking back on it, my design teacher would criticize me in saying — “you used too many fonts there Asectic”. And he would be correct, as I used 4 in total.

For to those who don’t know, a good practise in design is you should only utilize a total up to 2 fonts when deg anything.

Where for best possible results, 1 font should be a sans-serif, while the other a serif type font. That way, when alternating between the use of the two fonts in cases like the title and body paragraphs, you’d be able to see a clear distinction as to which is which.

In a Mockup

Yeah, I tend to ramble a bit. But here was the main reason as to why I started this poster design —- having this Photoshop mockup file where the poster is displayed in a restaurant as an ad.

To those who are wondering — mockups are free, pre-made template files in which you can , to simulate a design in real life. Where after you ed the file, open it and simply copy & paste your design. To which when saved will be auto-updated to the mockup file.

Poster designs are one of them. Where there are tons of other mockup templates out there for various other stuff like magazines, business cards, cafe packaging, etc. These just make it easier of deg the in real world setup for you — you just need the design created to go.

After opening the ed mockup psd, I double clicked on the second layer which enabled me to add in my design:

Where after saving the psb file, here was the new design in effect:

And just as an extra, the image in my TPL was generated from the online avatar maker called Picrew.

Since that is a close representation as to what I look like in real life. Anyways, here was another random blog. Thanks for reading. I’m off to create more designs on the professional side now.
