LOONANRONPA - Chapter 1.1

                   

            I slowly began to wake up. My eyes

            didn’t agree with me, but I struggled

            to get them to open.  

            As I regained strength in my sore

            muscles, I managed to sit up in the chair

           at this desk which I had been laying on.

           My blurry vision began to come into

            focus and I was sitting in a classroom.

    

            I rubbed my eyes to try and wake up

            a little more. I started to shiver a little

            bit, as the room was a little cold and I

            didn’t have a jacket on.  

            The last thing I can was that I

           going into the entrance hall at the school...

           I was going to look around while I had a

           little extra time to kill... But how did I

            get here...?

           The only thing I can think is that I had

           found this classroom, sat down at a

            desk, and fell asleep somehow... I most

           certainly don’t doing it...

           I looked around the classroom, which

            had rows of normal looking school desks.  

            I was sitting in the middle of the room. In

            the front of the room was a large black        

            chalkboard which had a bunch of flowers

            drawn on it with chalk. Above that was a

            clock.  

            It’s just a little past 8...

           As I began to wake up more and come

            to my senses, I noticed something odd.  

            To my left, where there would normally

            be windows like classrooms have, there

            were huge metal slabs.  

            Giant metal bolts seem to be holding

            these metal slabs over the windows?  

            What in the world is going on here....?

           These slabs were completely covering

            the windows so I couldn’t even see

            outside. I checked the bolts to see if

            maybe they could be loosened, but they

            were way too tight...

           I rubbed my eyes thinking maybe this

            is all just a crazy dream, but it wasn’t.  

            Now looking across to the other side of

            the room, even more strange things.  

            Mounted up high on the right wall there

            was a television, which seemed to be off.        

            Next to that was what looked like a

            surveillance camera that was slowly

            scanning the room.

            TV’s and security cameras in the

            classrooms? I mean, Hope’s Peak is the

            most prestigious school in the country...  

            I guess it only makes sense to have fancy

            stuff like that...

           I rubbed my forehead and then suddenly       

            ed something. I looked back

            to the clock above the chalkboard.  

            I was supposed to be at the entrance

            hall at 8am!

           I turned around and saw there was a

            door in the back corner of the room and

            quickly headed for it. I slid open the

            door and ran out into the—

         *THUD*

           I ran straight into someone else and I

            fell back onto the floor...

           “Ow... Sorry I was in a rush and wasn’t

            paying attention,” I said with my eyes

            closed and holding my forehead which

            I had just bumped.

           “No need to apologize. I wasn’t looking

           where I was going either,” the girl giggled

            while rubbing her head.  

            “This is my first day. I think I got lost on

           the way back to the entrance hall...”

           I stood to my feet and took her hand

            to help her up too.  

            “It’s my first day as well. I came to look

            for any others; everyone is meeting at

            the entrance hall right now,” she said

            dusting off her skirt.  

            It was that moment when I realized that

            I knew her. I read all about her last night       

            online. They call her the Ultimate

            Fashionista, and she is definitely

            deserving of the title.  

            Her skirt was really nice and had a cute       

            pattern, unlike my plain black one. She

            straightened her tailored black suit

            jacket that she was wearing over her

            white school shirt. The shoes she had on

           would probably cost me a years worth of

            allowance. Her hair and makeup looked

            like they were done professionally this

           morning before school....  

            She’s gorgeous. Somehow she turned a

           school uniform into something girls would    

            fawn over in a magazine. Her smile was

            almost glowing.  

            “I will follow you back to the entrance

            hall then if you don’t mind. I don’t really

           the way,” I said as I also dusted

            myself off. “My name is Haseul, by the

           way.”

           “Call me Yves,” she said as she smiled

            and shook my hand. “Let’s get going!”

        

            When we stepped out into the hallway, I

           had a strange feeling. Other than it being

           a little dark, the hallway looked like any

           normal school. Though the strange

            feeling was like I had been here many

            times before but couldn’t recall any of the

           memories...

           Out in the hall we ed by a few

            more sets of the metal slabs bolted to

            the walls, covering what I assume to be

            the windows. I didn’t want to ask Yves

            about them - she didn’t seem to be

            bothered by it, or at least was hiding it

            well.

            I also saw more security cameras placed

           in various places throughout the hallways.       

            Each one slowly pivoting to cover more

            ground. They really take security

            seriously here don’t they?

           As we headed through the hallway we

            ed by 3 other classrooms, an

            unmarked set of doors, a door labeled

            “Store”, and another with a sign saying

            “Cafeteria.”

           Eventually we reached a set of double

            doors at the end of the hall and Yves

            lead me through them.

       

            A group of girls stood in the hall. A few

           of them were speaking to each other,

           while others stood quietly.  

            This entrance hall is much like the one I

            from when I arrived here...

            However, one thing also makes it nothing

            like the hall I . Every odd thing

            I’ve mentioned up until now doesn’t

            even hold a candle up to this.  

            Situated where the entrance doors for

            the building normally would be at a

            school, was a huge circular metal door.  

            It was like something out of a science

            fiction movie. Flashing lights, giant

            pistons, and massive gears were all over

            it. I stood and stared at it for what felt

            like 20 minutes, not knowing what to say.  

            Four other girls besides Yves and I were      

            standing around the room. Two of them

           were talking about something as we

            walked in, and two were standing quietly,

           one with her arms crossed.

        

            Upon our arrival, the group turned and    

            acknowledged us.  

            “You only found one?”

           “I only found her and no one else,”

            answered Yves.   

            “No other students, no teachers or

            staff... What’s going on here?” The girl

            said back.  

            The girl who I haven’t seen speak yet

            started to casually examine the big

            metal door as the group discussed.  

            “Does she anything either?”

            asked one of the other girls curiously.

            Then Yves turned and looked at me.

            “The last thing I is coming in    

            through the entrance hall about an

            hour ago,” I said as I nervously played

            with my hands. “Everything else after

            that is kinda fuzzy.”

           Yves nodded, “It’s pretty much the same

            for the rest of us.”

           They each told me they had woken up

            somewhere and didn’t know what had

           happened. Everyone headed back

            here after they woke up and haven’t

            found any other students or teachers yet.

           The girl who had first spoken walked up

           to me and put out her hand with a cute

            smile, “What’s your name?”

           The Ultimate Pop Idol, Heejin. She is

            one of the most popular female idols in

            the country, maybe even the world.  

            Yet she and her group have only been

            around for less than a year as they just

           recently debuted yet, but still theiy are       

            reaching massive popularity.

            She wore a white skirt with her white

            school shirt. She wore a stylish blue

            jacket and her dark brown hair was

            slightly curled.

    

            Yves and Heejin I recognized because

            they’re famous. The other three girls I

            definitely didn’t reading about

           anywhere...

           The girl that asked about my memory

            walked over after Heejin to introduce

            herself, “My friends call me Chuu - you

            can too if you like.” She had pretty

            reddish brown hair with bangs and a

            cute peach bow.  

            The third girl smiled softly and then

           introduced herself, “My name is Hyunjin,

            it’s lovely to meet you.”

            I couldn’t help notice how soft her hands

            were when she shook my hand. She

            also was wearing the standard uniform,

            with the exception of wearing really nice

            earrings, and her straight brown hair

            fell over her shoulders.  

            The remaining girl didn’t seem to be

            making any moves to come and

            introduce herself. Instead she seemed

            more interested in the large metal door

            in the room, which was understandable

            I suppose.  

            “Hello, my name is Haseul,” I said

            nervously as I approached her putting

            my hand out.  

            Her hair was dyed an ash silver color and

           had cute braids on the top. Her hair was

           slightly wavy and fell over her shoulders

            She was wearing a regular uniform, but

            also wore a black leather jacket and

            black gloves.  

            She seemed to take notice of me finally,

            looking at my outstretched hand for a

            second before shaking it, “I’m Kim Lip.”

           “Oh... Well it’s nice to meet you... Do you

            mind me asking what you’re doing at this

            school?” I said as I fiddled with my thumbs

            again.  

            “What do you mean...?”

           “Sorry... I mean... This is a school for

           ultimate students, so I assumed you

            would have a talent...”

            I certainly had no recollection of this

            girl or her talent during my research.  

            I thought maybe she wouldn’t mind if I

            just asked.  

            She didn’t seem like she was going to

            answer me so I spoke up, “I guess you

            don’t have to tell me right now.”

           “I don’t have any reason to at the

            moment, so I won’t,” she said with arms

            crossed.  

            She didn’t seem too outgoing. While

            she was not forthcoming with

            conversation, there was no hostility in

            her tone, just confidence and calmness.

      

            Cutting through the sudden awkward

           silence of our conversation was a click

           followed by static and a voice.

            “This is a test of the school broadcast

            system! Am I on? Can everyone hear

           me? Okay, well then...!”

           There was a TV mounted high on the

            wall which had turned on. The only

            thing on the screen was fuzzy static,

            but there was a strange voice coming

            from it.  

            The voice seemed totally out of place.  

            It was so completely unconcerned... I

            couldn’t help but feel a deep, unnerving

            dread at the sound of it. It was almost

            like hearing someone laugh at the

            scene of an accident.

           “All incoming students! It is almost time

            for your entrance ceremony. Please

            make your way to the gymnasium in 30

            minutes!” and with a click the TV turned

            itself off again.

     

            “So it seems we aren’t here alone after

            all... That’s a huge relief,” sighed Yves.  

            “But there’s only 6 of us... There’s no

            way there’s only 6 in our class... right?”

            questioned Hyunjin as she rubbed her

            shoulder.  

            “That is strange... I read about other

            students last night when I was doing

            some research on the school.” I felt

            through my pockets for my phone to pull

            up the website I was on, “Hey my phone is

            gone!”

           “It would seem that we’re all missing

            our phones and bags, Haseul,” said Yves.

           Kim Lip began walking to the doors to

            leave.

            “Where are you going?” Heejin asked.

            “Aren’t you curious about what’s in the

            Gym? We won’t figure anything out

            standing around in here.”

           She turned and left the room. The rest

            of us looked at each other quietly for a

            few moments before starting to follow

            behind.

           As a group we followed Kim Lip through

            the hallways to a set of double doors.  

            The entrance to the Gym is almost like a

            trophy room. There are shelves and

            cases with glass coverings that display

            trophies and medals of various sizes. I

            imagine the school that has the most

           gifted students would constantly be

           winning awards and competitions.

           Beyond that was another set of doors

            that would lead us into the Gym... Where

            our supposed entrance ceremony would

            be held...

            Hey guys! It was a bit longer than last

            time but that was just the beginning of

            the first chapter!

            Hopefully if you read this whole thing,

            some of your curiosity is starting to

            warm up. I’m hoping you’re finding this

            to be interesting.  

            Trust me, it’s only the tip of the iceberg

            so far.

            I’m having fun writing it, so hopefully
