Challenge Season - Cosplay: Hobbit

For Middle-earth, I have put together a relatively inexpensive Hobbit costume (which I have accessorised with some more expensive items for a Bilbo costume).

I started with a coarse navy cotton vest and white cotton collarless long-sleeved button shirt; and some rough cotton knee length shorts.

To this I’ve added faux rubber feet (to which I added teased out brown wool for hair on them befitting a Hobbit; Sting (a foam LARP weapon as carrying a metal weapon in public is an offence); bracers/suspenders; Bilbo’s pipe (from Wētā); a dark blanket clasped the the front with and elf leaf brooch (which makes an effective cloak); and the One Ring on a chain.

I don’t really cosplay, per se, I but I do like having costumes. I’ve worn it for Hobbit Day festivities and also a little bit when I was in New Zealand for some opportunistic photos
