before you groan and roll your eyes at ANOTHER one of my ocs, just know that suna isn’t new, i just revamped her especially for ai-dolls. so HA. :^) betcha didn’t see that one coming.

personality

suna, despite seeming energetic and cutesy on-stage, is a very timid and socially-awkward girl; she’s bad at socializing and often stutters when spoken to. she hates large crowds and speaking publicly and often has to prepare herself before going on-stage to settle her nerves and avoid stage-fright.

despite being afraid of crowds and public speaking, she is also deathly afraid of being alone and needs someone to accompany her almost everywhere she goes. she’s often too shy to ask, though, so those close to her often just tag along with being asked as a sort of courtesy to her.

her self-esteem is very low and she’s very bad at accepting compliments as she’ll either write them off or find a way to debase them. ironically, she is very easily-impressed and is always ready to praise her peers for their work, no matter how small. she loves seeing her loved ones happy and content.

backstory

suna was adopted at a young age by a couple that couldn’t have children of their own, meaning she never knew her biological family. she often stays with her grandmother and helps out with her family shrine when her parents are working and she isn’t at school or practicing her singing and idol routines.

suna’s adoptive mother attended sakuyume academy as a girl, so that’s why suna herself was enrolled. worried about upholding her family’s name, particularly her mother’s, she strives to do her best in everything that she can, but, because of her clumsiness and awkwardness, this doesn’t always go as planned. suna hopes that, through ai-dolls, she can make her family proud and prove to herself that she’s more than just a walking disaster.

i love oc groups + ing my friends, and trois of my friends are running this oc group so—what’s not to love ?

i also think that the theme and vibe ai-dolls gives off matches suna and her concept very well and i’ve been meaning to get a new group for her so !! uwu

why did your character apply for Ai-Dolls?

Suna nervously averted her eyes and fiddled with the laced hem of her frilly skirt. “I-I…” she began meekly, searching for the power to express the magnitude of words caught inside of her head. “I… love idols.” she spoke softly, dropping her gaze to the floor. “Their mission is to bring smiles to the people’s faces and… they do it. Wh-when I heard our school was funding and ing an idol group, I thought that I was living a dream. I was scared to but my grandma coaxed me into it so I signed up…” she then lifted her gaze from the floor, her dusty indigo eyes, while gentle, held a sort of brightness to them. “I-I hope to make everybody proud…!”

what would your character’s role in the group be?

“I-I can sew…” Suna sputtered, fiddling with her fingers anxiously. “I would love to help design and create the outfits for everybody… I like doing hair, too, so I wouldn’t mind styling their hair either.” she spoke softly and hesitantly, but smiled nonetheless, the apples of her cheeks flushing with a youthful pink color.

how do you think your character would interact with Natsumi, Kiyomi, and Haruka?

“Natsumi is in my homeroom class, sh-she’s very nice to me…” Suna mused aloud, brushing some of her fair blonde hairs from her face. “I’ve never really interacted with Kiyomi or Haruka before, I-I’m a little worried they may think I’m annoying…” she spoke timidly, looking away. “Hopefully I can get to know them better through Ai-Dolls, though…!”

is there anything else you’d like us to know about your character?

suna was initially for an old rp group that never really even ever started, and i only have a very basic skeleton for her personality—that she is timid, socially inept, and has terribles fear of public speaking and crowds.

she used to be in secret cove, but i feel like the vibe that ai-dolls gives is much more adapted to her. i had to cut out her decora girl side when i entered her into secret cove because i didn’t know how i’d incorporate it practically, so i’m glad i got to bring that side of her back with this app !
