Friends like you come along once in a lifetime. I don't think I have enough words to express how much I appreciate all the times you've listened to me and been there when I needed someone. I when I was a kid and you would sing me to sleep with the song 'Dream a Little Dream of Me' . The warmth and love in your voice still comfort me when I'm scared. It's been one hell of a road for both of us. When things get hard and I want desperately to throw in the towel I think of you and how strong you are, the fierceness with which you go about your life. An immigrant with no family to depend on, you remained the kind of mother I aspire to one day be. You were never short of time, love or protection. It's so comforting to know that no matter what happens I always have someone in my court, ready to fight for me. I strive to be even half the woman you are and to make you proud.
