I'm back as I have decided to take part into the

#MAWriting challenge! This is my first entry.

WEEK 1: MYSTERY

Steve Rogers woke up in his and Peggy's home, or atleast that's where he thought he was. She wasn't there... "It's been a long, long time" was playing subtly in the background. The curtains were pulled, it was dark.

"Peggy? Peggy!" he called out. No response. He ran into the kitchen but couldn't find her there either. "Peggy, where are you...?" He decided to go outside and look after her. He opened the door and what he saw deeply shocked him: he was in the middle of a modern city, far more modern than anything he'd ever seen during his Avenger times. There were cars just like those that Howard Stark dreamed of and people were dressed up very differently. Steve didn't understand what had happened to him.

He ran confused into the streets, people looking weirdly at him as he was dressed up in old clothes. He thought that he caught a glimpse of red somewhere and went after it. On the way, he stumbled upon a poster that had a middle aged Morgan Stark on it and promoted her new collection of Iron Man suits. "What the-" he started cursing "language, Steve. What even are you thinking!?" He couldn't understand why this was happening again to him and how he got there. He stood away from ice this time, had a calm life with Peggy... Did something happen to his memory then?

"She's so great, her father would be proud of her." said a hoarse voice behind him. Steve turned and saw an old man with a familiar face, who looked puzzled at him, as if he was looking at a ghost.

"Steve..." whispered the man.

"B-b-bucky?" he replied.

Thor found himself on a ship in space, without his Axe. He tried calling his hammer but it wouldn't come. He had no idea where his automatically driven ship was taking him and how he got there in the first place. After a while, in the darkness of Space, in front of him lights started appearing and he could feel the power coming from that place: Asgard. But this isn't Asgard, without its rightful people. The true one is on Earth now. But Thor felt as if he was the prisoner of Space, as if fate just wouldn't let him be there anymore.

While his ship was landing, he noticed the liveless appearance of this "Asgard" - deserted, dark but apparently full of richies. He landed forming a cloud of dust. Thor suddenly felt a little frightened, for one of the very few times in his life as he felt something - someone coming. Someone truly powerful. As the dust cleared, he saw a flash of green and black and there she was in front of him...He was a fool to think that the Goddess of DEATH could die - no matter how.

"Brother...I'm glad that you've eventually arrived here, though I must say, I can barely recognise you the way you are now..."

"THIS IS NOT ASGARD!" yelled Thor enraged. Hela raised her eyebrows in response, "Then we'll make it be OUR Asgard." Her brother looked in denial and confused at her. " I d-don't understand", he said "What happened to you?" "What do you mean?" she replied "What happened to YOU? Come on, we must go looking for someone." Thor couldn't hear her though - he was petrified. "Thor? Thor? Isn't this what you've always wanted? Isn't this how it should have been?"

"Control, why do I not have control anymore?" Bruce asked himself, as he couldn't stop the other guy from creating chaos. "I though I had the cure, that I could get the best out of the two sides... but it wasn't enough for the green one." He was in the middle of New York and he was angrier than ever.

"You not understand!" yelled the Hulk in his mind "Hulk have power! Hulk have no limits! Let Hulk be!" But Bruce knew it wasn't right, pushing himself to the limits and hurting others, making a big mess. This is not how you use power. You need a balance. "Where did all that control you had go?" he asked himself again as he held a building up high and then dropped it over horrified people. "They know now!"said the Hulk, "POWER!"

Then it all was gone. Something hit him hard in the head, something strange happened to him... He felt nauseous and lost, he heard faint voices that he couldn't recognize in the chaos. "This is too much." said a man. "No! You don't understand!" replied a nearly familiar feminine voice "It was meant to be this way." Her voice slowly faded.

Then, it wasn't dark. It was green.

The sun was setting. Clint was on a ship, sailing alone across the ocean. He'd been lost there for a long time but couldn't recall exactly how long. He ed going through a huge storm but somehow surviving. He was looking for something, but he didn't know if he was looking in the right place. The waves were getting calmer and calmer, the mist thicker.

"Clint! Clint!" yelled someone. He knew who it was. Natasha. "Clint, come with me and you'll be able to change anything! Just how you wanted..." The voice was slightly muffled and seemed to be coming from underwater. "I know you don't like the way things went. Don't deny it!" she went on. Barton's ship suddenly started sailing faster and faster and the mist was now thicker than ever. Clint found himself calling out Nat's name and trying to find her somewhere. "You're not a man with a mission anymore." she said, "let go!" A huge wave crashed into his ship, them another, and another...and they didn't stop until Clint found himself freezing in the cold waters of the ocean. He couldn't move, couldn't swim. He slowly accepted his fate as he let go.

"It's okay." said Natasha. He felt chills as the waves pulled him in. He saw the faces of the people he'd killed flash before him - but they weren't sad, no, they were very much alive... He saw his family happy... He saw himself falling off the cliff on Vormir...

Natasha was wandering in a forest. Her mind was blank. She suddenly heard a carriage coming behind her and turned to see Tony Stark and a dark figure. He looked at her, raised an eyebrow and said "Agent Romanoff, did you miss me?" She nodded silently, a single tear falling down her cheek. "Tony, you shouldn't have-" she began to say. "Shush, it's alright." he told her. After their footsteps and their dreams faded into the never-ending maze of branches, the figure went back into the carriage. He took off his hood, revealing the robotic face of Vision and turned to face his lover, who made her appearance in his carriage. "Wanda, I think this might just be your masterpiece." he said smiling.
