Winston Strange's new spellbook : Shamanic/Seidr magic

Winston Strange is studying the ancient rituals and magic of the Shaman and Seidr which is Nordic magic . A Shaman is a specialist which that dabbles in healing and spiritual communication. They perform rituals to achieve higher states of consciousness to traverse the spirit realm. Winston's main poweranimal is the Owl. A power animal is a being that guides you through your shamanic journeying. But he is also connected to deer and raven spirits as well. The owl symbolises clairvoyance and wisdom while the deer symbolises gentleness and the raven symbolises magic and mystery. Winston calls upon his power animal the owl for wisdom and guidance for spiritual problems. He relies on the raven for divination and the deer for fleet footedness and healing .   Winston does ancient chants in Old Norse to acheive a higher level of consciousness and to "transform" spiritually into the animal he is channeling . He wears deer antlers and face makeup like Maria Franz of the band Heliung , a raven skull necklace (the skull came from one of his recently deceased raven buddies . He hopes his old friends spirit shall live on in the Spirit Realm.) and owl feathers in his hair . He looks kinda erratic to some Asgardians when he is walking around in his traditional shaman garb with Loki or in Haiti with Brother Voodoo who both dabble in the ancient art of Shamanism Most of the explanation of shamans abilites were in other blogs and this introduction.

|Rune Casting|

Rune Casting is very important to Loki and he relies on it for many of his problems and is teaching Winston that although he does need to embrace and respect the Runes they are not perfect for fate is very dynamic . The Runes are little stones with nordic runic letters on them and they each mean something different . runes can help you take a step in the right direction but they can't solve the problem for you . Only you can shape your fate.

|Astral Projection|

is your unconscious self leaving your body by will or by force. Can see dreams and go into them using a spell in the astral form. Sometimes happens with out you knowing when you are unconscious (asleep or knocked out cause some times your astral form escapes ) you can make with another that is in astral form but you can also make with other people who are in tune with the astral plane like psychics and sorcerers and mediums. You can see ghosts and spirit energy when you are in this form more easily than normal . And if a sorcerer dies their astral form wanders until a spell is used to revive them and the astral form goes back into the body or if the the body is destroyed completely by fire their astral form disappears into the spirit realm since it doesnt have a vessel to go into .

|Spiritual Transformation|

The caster is able to transform their soul into various animals that have a spiritual bond with them. Winston is able to spiritually transform into an owl or a deer. A shamanistic power the caster sometimes dresses up like the animal(ie masks, antlers,feathers , fur,) to further enhance the process .

|Astral vision|

Only usable in astral form. This ability grants the to see other beings in the astral plane. Like the aura vision but aura vision deals with the present or physical dimension while astral vision deals with the upper dimensional realms.

|Banishment |

The is able to banish spirits away from someone or a place using chants and rituals. Winston burns sage incense to scare malevolent spirits away. He draws the rune Algiz which means "Protection" using banishing salt.

|Possession|

The is able to call spirits to possess them through ritual means ie chanting or drumming

|Totemism|

Able to have mystical connections with totem animals. Totems share a energetic spiritual connection in the lives of many.. The totems assist and them on the practitioner's journey through life and can share empathic connections or spiritually morph into the totem . The totem connects with the through trances

|Clairvoyance|

The is able to gain direct visual information through non physical means...they are able to see beyond the physical realm.

|Healing|

Shamans are able to use herbs , spiritual guidance or rituals to heal one physically , emotionally or spiritually.

|Spirit Magic|

Is able to use the arcane forces of the spirit world . Loki and winston being shamans can summon spirits, channel them through their body to gain new temporary abilites (lasts up to an hour ), speak and communicate with them on an astral level while they are in the afterlife or preform exorcisms

|Exorcism|

Forcibly evicting possessing entities from objects or bodies by spells, talismans , chants or rituals.

|Mediumship|

The ability to communicate with spirits that are in the afterlife. Loki usually uses chants and rituals to achieve this connection with the spirit world. While Winston uses psychedelic plants and rituals
