Background Story

Childhood: Edith's childhood was generally happy. She developed a talent for mathematics very early and was considered intelligent. She also developed a fascination with superheroes, especially ones without powers such as Iron Man and Batman.

Teenager years: She was often bullied for being a nerd and a teacher's pet at school. Because of this, she begged her parents to let her take classes in fitness and combat to show that she was more than they thought she was. Her X-gene also triggered during this time, giving her her powers. Because she saw many people discriminating against mutants, she tried to hide her powers and rarely ever used them. During this time, she also met her lifelong friend, Carmen Sangster.

Adult years: Edith combined her talents of business and exercise to set up a health and fitness chain and a company manufacturing sports equipment with her sister Maria. However, when the company became more successful, the two began to have frequent disagreements, most notably on how to spend the money. Edith had gotten used to her increased wealth and wanted to use the money for personal gain as well as for expanding the company, while Maria wanted to donate a portion to charities. This disagreement escalated until Maria left the company, causing Edith to realize how selfish she had been. She donated most of the extravagant things she had bought and started living without spending a lot of money on herself, donating a portion of the profits from her company to various charities as well as Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, as well as offering to assist people from the superhero and mutant communities if anyone needs assistance.
