As someone who will put a song on repeat longer than a skyscraper, I wonder what makes other people enjoy a song. I have specific things that tickle my tympanic membrane.
Vocal Tonality

Hearing the unique traits of a vocalist is something I deeply enjoy; Chris Motionless's raw screams, his gritty emotional cleans, Will Ramos's primal creature banshee screams, his full, deep distorted lows that sound like a giant demon or Tatiana's bewitching, sweet, but strong vocals. I really appreciate the differences in all 3 of these vocalists; The ability to use their voices to portray the theme of their songs is something I am a self itted nerd for.
Instrumental melodies

Your drummer, your bassist, your electric guitar player, your keyboardist, etc; These are the ultimate compliments to vocal tonality. The instrumental makes the singer either seem like a sweet, sacred angel or a dark, destructive demon. These combinations of instruments give the song a full picture, which makes it complete. Like Lorna Shore's Oblivion, which has a dark, apocalyptic, orchestral sound or Jinjer's Wallflower, which has a brighter, yet emotionally intense sound.
Lyrics
So the last part of this holy trinity, is lyrics. This puts a nice little bow on everything and makes it memorable in a significant way. I certain songs because of the story that was being told with the lyrics. Things like; "Wise men wonder while strong men die",

"All the stupid lies and the stupid games left a vacancy on this picture frame, a prisoner of my own hands, because if I can't have me then no one can"

or, "Witness the death of God, hear the Devil's choir as I lay myself in a sea of flames".

I like to feel lyrics and I like to think about them; I get inspired by them and I get invested in them.
